Efeito da concentração de enzima e de substrato no grau de hidrólise e nas propriedades funcionais de hidrolisados proteicos de corvina (Micropogonias furnieri) Efect of substrate and enzyme concentrations on the hydrolysis degree and in the functional properties of protein hydrolysates of whitemouth croaker (Micropogonias furnieri)

open access: yesQuímica Nova, 2009
The objective of this work was to obtain hydrolysates with different degrees of hydrolysis using Alcalase 2.4L® and to evaluate the effect of the enzyme [E] and substrate [S] concentration on the functional properties of the hydrolysates. It was obtained

Addition Pinus massoniana fallen wood improved the growth of Plagiomnium acutum in a substrate cultivation

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2022
Soilless culture has been widely used in horticultural plant production, but little research has been done on bryophyte. In this study, we selected a cultivation substrate mixed and proportioned with garden soil, granular soil, grass charcoal soil ...

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Effects of malondialdehyde-induced protein modification on water functionality and physicochemical state of fish myofibrillar protein gel [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Effects of malondialdehyde (MDA)-induced modification on water distribution in fish myofibrillar proteins (MP) gels were investigated using nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The oxidative modifications of MP gels were

Identification of serum protein biomarkers for pre‐cancerous lesions associated with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This work identified serum proteins associated with pancreatic epithelial neoplasms (PanINs) and early‐stage PDAC. Proteomics screens assessed genetically engineered mice with abundant PanINs, KPC mice (Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐KrasG12D/+ Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐Trp53R172H/+ Pdx1‐Cre) before PDAC development and also early‐stage PDAC patients (n = 31), compared to benign ...

Assessment of plant hydraulics in grapevine on various "terroirs" in the Canton of Vaud (Switzerland)

open access: yesOENO One, 2007
Aims: The aim of this paper is to study the relevance of different physiological indicators concerning vines hydraulic in relation to estimations of the soil water reservoir on various « terroirs » in Switzerland.

Liquid Holding Capacity and Liquid Leakage of Raw Salmon and Trout Fillets [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Liquid loss (i.e. loss of water and liquid fat) is an important property for salmonids when evaluating fish quality in production and as final product. It can be measured by several means, for example by liquid leakage or by liquid holding capacity.

Characterisation of fibre-rich powder and antioxidant capacity of Mangifera pajang K. fruit peels. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The composition of bambangan peel dietary fibre (DF) and several properties related to its nutritional quality were investigated. The physicochemical properties and antioxidant capacity for the fibre-rich powder (FRP) were investigated, and the chemical ...

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated
