Fresh water inflows to the Firth of Clyde
Proceedings of the Royal Society of Edinburgh. Section B. Biological Sciences, 1986SynopsisRainfall and river flow data have been used to calculate the fresh water input to the Firth of Clyde at key locations. The importance of seasonal variation and the recurrence of period of low flow is illustrated. Long term flow frequency is also analysed and related to recent events.

Design and Control of Water Systems in Presence of Inflow Scenarios
1994To study the effects of climatological changes on the design and management of water resources systems, we may be given a set of possible hydrometeorological scenarios. A methodology is provided to deal with such a case.

A note on the deep-water inflow to the Bothnian Sea
Journal of Marine Systems, 2007The deepest connection between the Bothnian Sea and the Baltic Proper is the narrow Understen-Market trench with a threshold depth of around 90 m. The deep-water flow through this passage, which is of great importance for the hydrographic state of the entire Gulf of Bothnia, was surveyed by the R/V Aranda in October 2004.

An Inexpensive Water Inflow Meter for Rearing Troughs
The Progressive Fish-Culturist, 1991Abstract A simple device for measuring water flows supplied to a standard fish-rearing trough has been developed. Made of three short sections of different-diameter polyvinyl chloride pipe, the Capilano flow meter allows the operator to directly read the flow while adjusting the inflow control valve.

Optimisation of water resources systems with statistical inflows
Proceedings of the Institution of Electrical Engineers, 1977The optimisation of water resources systems has been the subject of several investigations throughout the world. Methods of optimisation such as linear, nonlinear and dynamic programming have been considered by many workers in the field. Dynamic programming has been one of the most widely used methods owing to its natural characteristics of being able ...

The Dynamics of River Water Inflow to the Arctic Ocean
2000One of the most important components of the water budget in any ocean is the river inflow, which significantly affects the physical, chemical and biological processes of the ocean. River inflow is of special importance in the Arctic Ocean (Table 1) because although the Arctic Ocean contains only 1.0% of the world ocean water, it receives 11% of the ...
