Water Quality for Water Injection Wells
SPE Formation Damage Control Symposium, 1996Abstract A multidisciplinary study has been carried out so as to characterize the permeability impairment due to suspended particles during water injection. The approach is based on extensive laboratory experiments reproducing the complete range of parameters met in the industry. Experiments were carried out at both constant flowrate and

Enhanced Oil Recovery Injection Waters
SPE International Oilfield and Geothermal Chemistry Symposium, 1977A survey was made of the types of waters, chemicals, and water treatment methods used in enhanced oil recovery operations. The study indicated that numerous types of waters, chemicals, and water treatment methods are used. Chemical and biochemical reactions can occur when different types of waters are mixed or when enhanced oil recovery chemicals are ...

Some twenty years ago WIS-dredging has been developed in the Netherlands. By injecting water into the mud layer, the water content of the mud becomes higher, it becomes fluid mud and will start to flow. The advantages of this system are that there is no need of transporting the mud in a hopper, and no need for a pipeline.
