Binary Interactions, High-Speed Outflows and Dusty Disks during the AGB-To-PN Transition

open access: yesGalaxies, 2018
It is widely believed that the dramatic transformation of the spherical outflows of AGB stars into the extreme aspherical geometries seen during the planetary nebula (PN) phase is linked to binarity and driven by the associated production of fast jets ...

Sun-sized Water Vapor Masers in Cepheus A [PDF]

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2018
Abstract We present the first VLBI observations of a Galactic water maser (in Cepheus A) made with a very long baseline interferometric array involving the RadioAstron Earth-orbiting satellite station as one of its elements. We detected two distinct components at −16.9 and 0.6 km s−1 with a fringe spacing of 66 μas. In total power, the 0.

CNGCs in Marchantia paleacea uncouple arbuscular mycorrhizal symbiosis and rhizoid development

open access: yesNew Phytologist, Volume 251, Issue 4, Page 2027-2040, August 2026.
Rhizoid growth and AM fungal infection are uncoupled. Summary In Marchantia paleacea, MpaDMI1‐dependent nuclear Ca2+ oscillations are essential for arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungal colonisation, indicating that endosymbiosis‐mediated nuclear Ca2+ signalling is a conserved feature of land plant–AM symbiosis.

A ‘water spout’ maser jet in S235AB-MIR [PDF]

open access: yesMonthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, 2015
We report on annual parallax and proper motion observations of H2O masers in S235AB-MIR, which is a massive young stellar object in the Perseus Arm. Using multi-epoch VLBI astrometry we measured a parallax of pi = 0.63 +- 0.03 mas, corresponding to a trigonometric distance of D = 1.56+-0.09 kpc, and source proper motion of ( u alpha cos d , u d) = (0 ...

Gastrointestinal Parasites of Free‐Ranging Rhesus Macaques (Macaca mulatta) in Kathmandu: A One Health Perspective on Shared Environmental Risks

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 4, July 2026.
Free‐ranging rhesus macaques at Kathmandu's UNESCO heritage sites exhibit a 77.1% prevalence of potentially zoonotic gastrointestinal parasites. These findings highlight significant environmental contamination and a shared exposure risk, emphasizing the critical need for integrated One Health management strategies at the urban human‐wildlife interface.

open access: yesOdessa Astronomical Publications, 2011
Results of a search for ultrarapid flux fluctuations of galactic sources of maser emission in the water-vapor line at a wavelength of 1.35 cm. An observational technique of a search for rapid flux fluctuations on some minute scales has been developed ...

Diagnostics of a nuclear starburst: water and methanol masers [PDF]

open access: yesMonthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, 2018
We test models of starburst driven outflows using observations of the 22.2 GHz H$_2$O and 36.2 GHz class I CH$_3$OH maser lines. We have observed the starburst galaxy NGC 253 using the Karl G. Jansky Very Large Array. We present evidence for entrainment of star-forming dense-molecular gas in the outflow of NGC 253.

Narrative Review of Catatonia in Psychosis and Eating Disorders: Common Intersections and Treatment Considerations

open access: yesEarly Intervention in Psychiatry, Volume 20, Issue 7, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Eating disorders (ED) and psychosis/psychotic‐spectrum disorders (PSD) have overlapping symptoms and may co‐occur in a variety of presentations. Due to its debilitating and life‐threatening risk, it is important for clinicians to be aware of how catatonia may present within these co‐occurrences.

The Ca2+‐CAMTA6‐PP2C49‐HKT1;1 signaling axis modulates ion homeostasis during Arabidopsis seed germination under salt stress

open access: yesThe Plant Journal, Volume 127, Issue 1, July 2026.
SUMMARY Soil salinization severely constrains seedling establishment by disrupting cellular Na+/K+ homeostasis. Calcium (Ca2+) signaling contributes to the re‐establishment of ion balance during early growth, yet the mechanisms linking Ca2+ perception to ion transport regulation remain unclear.
