Dual versus single inhibitors: Which strategy best mitigates nitrogen losses in coarse‐textured soils? A laboratory evaluation

open access: yesSoil Science Society of America Journal, Volume 90, Issue 1, January/February 2026.
Abstract Enhanced efficiency fertilizers, including urease inhibitors (UIs), nitrification inhibitors (NIs), and dual inhibitors (DIs [UI + NI]), are widely used to reduce nitrogen (N) losses and improve crop nitrogen use efficiency (NUE). However, their relative effectiveness across multiple nitrogen loss pathways remains unclear.

Imperceptible and Disposable Humidity and Temperature Sensors with Low Environmental Footprint Enabled by Aerosol Jet Printing and Cellulose‐Based Substrates

open access: yesSmall Methods, Volume 10, Issue 2, 22 January 2026.
This study presents eco‐friendly humidity and temperature sensors printed on biodegradable cellulose using Aerosol Jet Printing. With 99.75% material reduction and 13 µm printing resolution, the sensors use a modified PEDOT:PSS ink for efficient operation across 10–80% RH and 20–50 °C.

Energetic and oxidative costs of microfilarial infection: evidence for fitness trade‐offs in male village weavers of the Amurum Forest Reserve

open access: yesWildlife Biology, Volume 2026, Issue 1, January 2026.
Microfilariae contribute to a higher energetic demand that could lead to oxidative damage and reduce hosts' fitness. Yet reports about the energy status and oxidative stress‐defense mechanisms of infected wild birds are rarely documented. We investigated the relationship between microfilariae and the energy status and oxidative damage‐defense ...
