Energy‐Enhanced Aqueous Organic Flow Batteries Enabled by Integrated Proton‐Coupled Electron Transfer‐Induced Carbon Capture and Utilization

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
This work presents an aqueous organic flow battery that integrates energy storage with carbon capture and utilization. By feeding flue gas into an oxygen‐tolerant FFDS posolyte, reversible CO2 capture, utilization, and release is achieved via PCET‐driven pH swings.

Enhanced Lattice Polarization and Directed Charge Transport Toward Pt Surface Sites Accelerate the Volmer Step in Piezocatalytic H2 Evolution on Co‐Doped BiFeO3

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
We report a Pt‐decorated Co‐doped BiFeO3 (Pt/BCFO) piezocatalyst achieving an H2 evolution rate of 1896.4 µmol g−1 h−1. Co‐doping induces lattice distortion, enhancing piezoelectric polarization, while Pt sites promote water dissociation. Embedded in a poly(vinylidene fluoride) matrix, Pt/BCFO enables efficient mechanical energy harvesting and catalyst

Detection of Water Pollutants With a Nonuniform Array of Microwave Sensors

IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, 2023
Detection of pollutants in water is conventionally performed in wet chemistry labs for samples that are collected manually. This task is time-consuming, costly, and difficult to expand to large water bodies and perform frequently.
