Decentralization and Environmental Quality: An International Analysis of Water Pollution [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper explores the empirical effects of decentralization on environmental quality by studying water pollution in rivers around the world. It examines the level of pollution and variation in pollution across jurisdictions within a country, for both a

Recent Advances in Laser‐Induced Graphene‐Based Gas Sensors: From Sensing Mechanisms to Biomedical Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Laser‐induced graphene (LIG) provides a scalable, laser‐direct‐written route to porous graphene architecture with tunable chemistry and defect density. Through heterojunction engineering, catalytic functionalization, and intrinsic self‐heating, LIG achieves highly sensitive and selective detection of NOX, NH3, H2, and humidity, supporting next ...

Polar Lattice‐Distorted Motifs Enable Synergy of Local Polarization/Dipole Fields for Concurrent Glyphosate Wastewater Remediation and CO Evolution

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Photocatalytic treatment of glyphosate herbicide in agricultural wastewater is achieved through the cooperative effect of the local polarization field and dipole field mediated by lattice‐distorted carbon nitride. Glyphosate is completely degraded via selective C─P bond cleavage with a CO evolution rate of 1166 µmol g−1 h−1.

Emerging Rights and Risks in the Management of Water Quantity and Water Quality [PDF]

open access: yes
Using transferable water permits has been identified by economists as a necessary tool to efficiently allocate water to its highest valued use. Australian governments have seized the concept and begun to provide mechanisms that separate rights to water ...

Surface‐Bound Superoxide Radical‐Mediated Photo‐Fenton Mineralization of Ciprofloxacin on Fe‐Sillenite Nanosheets

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study systematically compares the degradation efficiency of CIP in a H2O2‐alone system and a novel Bi12FeO20‐H2O2 photo‐Fenton system. It reveals for the first time the presence of a quinone‐imine intermediate in the H2O2‐alone system, which exhibits toxicity comparable to CIP.

A High‐Performance and Fully Recyclable Supramolecular Nanofibrous Membrane for Multifunctional Air Filtration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A green, thermoreversible self‐assembly strategy yields a multifunctional and recyclable supramolecular nanofibrous membrane. Graphene oxide (GO) nanosheet acts as a heterogeneous nucleation‐templating agent, simultaneously modulating the supramolecular crystal packing while tailoring the nanofibrous architecture for elite performance.
