A numerical flow simulation of a mixed flow pump [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
Mixed flow pumps are primarily axial flow pumps, but they impart some degree of radial and swirling momentum to the pump fluid as it passes through the rotor section.

Photoswitching Conduction in Framework Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This mini‐review summarizes recent advances in state‐of‐the‐art proton and electron conduction in framework materials that can be remotely and reversibly switched on and off by light. It discusses the various photoswitching conduction mechanisms and the strategies employed to enhance photoswitched conductivity.

AN ECONOMIC MODEL FOR IRRIGATION WELL MANAGEMENT IN A DECLINING AQUIFER [PDF]

open access: yes
A computerized model is developed that uses the aquifer characteristics and irrigation requirements to estimate hydraulic properties of a well pumping from an unconfined aquifer with a steadily declining water table.

3D‐Printed Sulfur‐Derived Polymers With Controlled Architectures for Lithium‐Sulfur Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Rheology‐guided formulation design for direct ink writing enables the fabrication of 3D sulfur copolymer cathodes with controlled architectures for lithium‐sulfur batteries. The printed electrodes exhibit multiscale porosity and high sulfur utilization, delivering enhanced electrochemical performance compared to conventional cast electrodes.

Bio‐Orthogonally Crosslinked Supramolecular Polymer Bottlebrush Hydrogels for Long‐Term 3D Cell Culture

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Fibrous benzenetrispeptide (BTP) hydrogels, fabricated via strain‐promoted azide‐alkyne cycloaddition (SPAAC) crosslinking, form robust, bioinert networks. These hydrogels can support 3D cell culture, where cell viability and colony growth depend on the fiber content.

Cardiac‐Derived ECM Microspheres for Enhanced hiPSC‐CMs Maturation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Cardiac extracellular matrix microspheres derived from decellularized porcine heart provide a biomimetic 3D microenvironment for human induced pluripotent stem cell–derived cardiomyocytes (hiPSC‐CMs). This platform supports short‐ and long‐term culture, enhances structural organization, and promotes electrophysiological and functional maturation of ...

Estimation of Irrigation Water Pumping by Remote Sensing: Application of the SAMIR Model to Citrus under Mediterranean Climate Conditions

open access: yesRevista Brasileira de Meteorologia
Agricultural intensification has led to overexploitation of water resources, in particular of the underground resource. Estimating groundwater exploitation remains a serious problem in arid and semi-arid countries such as Algeria.
