Multiobjective optimization of water distribution systems accounting for economic cost, hydraulic reliability, and greenhouse gas emissions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
In this paper, three objectives are considered for the optimization of water distribution systems (WDSs): the traditional objectives of minimizing economic cost and maximizing hydraulic reliability and the recently proposed objective of minimizing ...

Helical vortex theory and blade element analysis of multi‐bladed windmills

open access: yesWind Energy, 2023
Multi‐bladed windmills usually pump water for agriculture and domestic consumption, often in remote locations. Although they have been around for over 150 years, their aerodynamic performance is still poorly understood.

Fault diagnosis of large-scale electric pumping and irrigation electromechanical equipment by integrating CWT and swin transformer

open access: yesFrontiers in Mechanical Engineering
This paper proposes a large-scale electromechanical equipment fault diagnosis framework that integrates continuous wavelet transform (CWT), Swin transformer, and cross attention. Firstly, CWT uses optimized complex Morlet wavelets (impact sharpness ratio

Experimental study on mechanism for pumping-induced land subsidence [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the International Association of Hydrological Sciences, 2020
Groundwater pumping can cause severe land subsidence, yet the mechanisms have not been completely clear. A laboratory physical model test was done to investigate the mechanism for pumping-induced land subsidence.

Investigating the Double-Fissure Interactions of Hydraulic Concrete Under Three-Point Bending: A Simulation Study Using an Improved Meshless Method

open access: yesBuildings
Hydraulic concrete is prone to cracking and interactive propagation under complex stress, threatening its structural integrity and service life. To address limitations of traditional numerical methods (e.g., mesh dependency in FEM) and imprecision of ...

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Spatiotemporal evolution and influencing factors of carbon stock in the water receiving areas from the perspective of carbon neutrality

open access: yesScientific Reports
Water resources of water transfer projects are not only used to solve the water scarcity problem in the water-receiving area but also to change the regional carbon absorption capacity. Using the water-receiving area of the Jiangsu-Shandong section of the
