A non‐fluorescent immunohistochemistry method for measuring autophagy flux using MAP1LC3/LC3 and SQSTM1 as core markers

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We introduce an immunohistochemistry method to measure autophagy flux, highlighting the active degradation and recycling of cellular waste. This cost‐effective approach uses tissue samples to track key markers like LC3 and SQSTM1, revealing how cells maintain health or respond to diseases such as cancer. It bridges the gap between research and clinical

Insights into the flux of water in a water desalination through nanopores process [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2015
Water desalination through nanopores has been shown to be a promising alternative to the currently water purification processes. In spite the results in this direction obtained by means of computational simulations were animating there are still pending issues to be resolved. For example, water desalination involves macro numbers (in size and time) but

Architecting highly hydratable polymer networks to tune the water state for solar water purification

open access: yesScience Advances, 2019
Highly hydratable light-absorbing hydrogels with reduced water vaporization energy promote efficient solar water purification. Water purification by solar distillation is a promising technology to produce fresh water.

Enhancing transporter activity in heterologous expression systems with SAHA: a 2500‐times more potent and odorless alternative to butyrate

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Heterologous expression of membrane transporters in cultured cells is essential for functional characterization, but is sometimes limited by low activity. Our study compares the HDAC inhibitors butyrate, VPA and SAHA to enhance transport activity. We propose to replace butyrate by SAHA: it is equally effective, devoid of repulsive odor, costs less, and

Планування ризиків при роботі блоків систем водоочищення [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Досліджена робота систем водоочищення в теплоенергетиці. Встановлено, що при відмовленнях різних блоків систем водоочистки, а також при їхній штатній роботі виникають значні ризики.

Hydrophobicity causes anomalous migration of cystine/glutamate antiporter SLC7A11 in SDS‐PAGE with low acrylamide concentration

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
SLC7A11 frequently migrates faster in SDS‐PAGE. The present study found that the high hydrophobicity of SLC7A11 causes its anomalous migration in SDS‐PAGE with a low concentration of acrylamide gel. Replacing isoleucine with asparagine reduced hydrophobicity and restored its normal migration at 55 kDa, revealing the role of hydrophobicity and gel ...
