Application of Water Quality Index (WQI) for groundwater quality assessment of Biratnagar, Nepal

open access: yesOur Nature, 2021
This present hydrological study assessed the groundwater quality of Biratnagar Metropolitan by the application of Water Quality Index (WQI). It has been determined on the basis of analyzed groundwater samples for some important physicochemical parameters such as pH, turbidity, electrical conductivity (EC), dissolved oxygen (DO), free carbon-dioxide ...

Evaluation of the Water Source of the Water Supply System in a Brazilian Small Municipality

open access: yesEnvironmental Quality Management, Volume 35, Issue 2, Winter 2025.
ABSTRACT There is increasing concern about water security, with the provision of water to the population in adequate quantity and quality, especially in small municipalities' Water Supply Systems (WSS). There is a risk of shortages in Mariana Pimentel, Southern Brazil, and the population has already been served by tanker trucks for various periods ...

Quercetin‐Loaded Graphene Oxide Nanoparticles Modulate Inflammatory Gene Expression and Enhance Cell Migration In Vitro

open access: yesChemistryOpen, Volume 14, Issue 11, November 2025.
Herein, quercetin is loaded onto graphene oxide, and its biological properties are evaluated in vitro. The results show that the graphene oxide/quercetin nanocomposite reduces the expression of inflammation‐related genes and enhances fibroblast cell migration. Additionally, it exhibits antibacterial properties.

Source analysis of nitrate pollution in a typical tributary of the upper Yellow River using a combined approach of stable isotopes and DOM fluorescence characteristics

open access: yesRiver, Volume 4, Issue 4, Page 566-578, November 2025.
Abstract Identifying the sources and characteristics of water pollution is essential for the protection and management of water environments. Nitrate (NO3−) is a key pollutant affecting water quality in the Qingshui River, a typical semi‐arid tributary in the upper Yellow River basin.

Assessment of the effect of drought and anthropogenic liquid pollution on the physicochemical quality of the waters of Oued Inaouene using the Water Quality Index (Taza, Morocco) [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences
The Inaouene river, a tributary of the Oued Sebou, is subject to the effects of drought in the Mediterranean climate and pollution from raw wastewater. Assessment of water quality in this hydrosystem using the water quality index (WQI) calculated from 19

Rethinking Urban Spaces to Improve Nutrition Security Through Urban Agriculture

open access: yesEarth's Future, Volume 13, Issue 10, October 2025.
Abstract The current food system damages the environment, increases social inequalities, and is vulnerable to climate shocks and supply chain disruptions. This, and the global urbanization trends, pose the question of how cities will ensure food security for their inhabitants in a sustainable way. Within urban contexts, the most marginalized groups are

Geochemical and Climatic Influences on Spatiotemporal Water Quality Changes in Drinking Water Source Lakes in Pakistan: Implications for Environmental and Public Health

open access: yesGeoHealth, Volume 9, Issue 10, October 2025.
Abstract Climate change, rapid urbanization, and population growth are increasingly influencing the quality and quantity of surface water resources, especially in vulnerable reservoir systems. This study investigates the spatiotemporal changes in water features and quality of three key drinking water source lakes‐Rawal, Simly, and Khanpur (RSK ...
