Water redistribution in mycorrhizosphere of trifoliate orange
Mycorrhizal hyphae possess the ability of absorbing water directly from the surrounding matrix to root, whereas it is not clear whether water flow redistributes from hyphae to surrounding matrix.

MODELING SOIL WATER REDISTRIBUTION UNDER SURFACE DRIP IRRIGATION [PDF]
The main objective of this study was to develop a numerical model to simulate water distribution, and the shape of the wetted soil volume, resulting from a point source irrigation at the ground surface (dripper), given soil hydraulic properties and ...

Energy Redistribution Following CO2 Formation on Cold Amorphous Solid Water [PDF]
The formation of molecules in and on amorphous solid water (ASW) as it occurs in interstellar space releases appreciable amounts of energy that need to be dissipated to the environment.

Lipid Melting Transitions Involve Structural Redistribution of Interfacial Water [PDF]
Lipid phase transitions are shown to involve structural redistribution of interfacial ...

Water Savings of Crop Redistribution in the United States [PDF]
Demographic growth, changes in diet, and reliance on first-generation biofuels are increasing the human demand for agricultural products, thereby enhancing the human pressure on global freshwater resources. Recent research on the food-water nexus has highlighted how some major agricultural regions of the world lack the water resources required to ...

Agricultural Water Allocation under Uncertainty: Redistribution of Water Shortage Risk [PDF]
AbstractThis article develops an economic model to analyze how the risk of water shortages affects farmers’ land irrigation decision and how the priority‐based water sharing arrangement redistributes such a risk among farms with different water rights priorities.

3DMGAR: A Transient Quasi-3D Point-Source Green–Ampt Infiltration and Redistribution Model
Although Richards’ equation (RE) generally provides a good description of infiltration and water redistribution in soils, its numerical solutions can be computationally intensive or suffer from numerical instability and require extensive soil data ...

Hydraulic redistribution of soil water by neotropical savanna trees [PDF]
The magnitude and direction of water transport by the roots of eight dominant Brazilian savanna (Cerrado) woody species were determined with a heat pulse system that allowed bidirectional measurements of sap flow. The patterns of sap flow observed during the dry season in species with dimorphic root systems were consistent with the occurrence of ...

Exploring hydraulic redistribution for water management in gardens [PDF]
The understanding of water use by mixed stands, where trees and herbaceous share the same area, as in landscaping, requires at least the combined consideration of the role of water and radiation, as limiting factors for plant development and survival.

Redistribution of Water Injected into the Soil
In 1984 an analytically response function for one dimensional vertical redistribution of water injected into the soil was drived. In this study a theoretical h0(t) solution (the time variation of capillary pressure) for radial redistribution of water injected into the soil is developed and compared to the corresponding one for the vertical case.
