“Water-Carbon” redistribution caused by China's interprovincial grain transportation

Water Research, 2023
Water resource and carbon emission involved in grain production in mainland China are redistributed among provinces as the grain was transported in recent years. This study first calculated the water consumption and carbon emission during the growth of grain crops based on the water-carbon footprint theory, and then used the social-equity method to ...

Redistribution of soil water after infiltration

Water Resources Research, 1966
The redistribution of soil water after the cessation of infiltration in three agricultural soils was analyzed experimentally in the laboratory. It was found that the rate of redistribution within the soil profiles depended upon the initial depth of wetting and the soil water content‐soil water pressure‐capillary conductivity relations.

Modeling Soil Water Redistribution during Second‐Stage Evaporation

Soil Science Society of America Journal, 2003
Calculating the dynamics of soil water content (θ) near the surface and modeling soil water evaporation ( E s ) are critical for many agricultural management strategies. This study was performed to develop a model to simulate soil water redistribution during second‐stage ...

Redistribution of Water in Homogeneous Soil

2018
The post-infiltration process of water movement in the soil root zone is known as soil-water redistribution. Understanding the redistribution process is important to prevent infiltrated water to penetrate below the soil root zone and thus decrease the amount of soil-water available for plants and increase the risk of groundwater pollution.

The impact of water vapor diodes on soil water redistribution

Journal of Hydrology, 2017
Abstract Diurnal soil temperature fluctuations are the prime cause for subsurface water vapor fluxes. In arid and semi-arid areas, water vapor flux is the dominant means of soil water redistribution. The directions of water vapor flux shift from upward to downward diurnally following the variations of the soil thermal gradient.

Redistribution of soil water after infiltration

Australian Journal of Soil Research, 1971
The one-dimensional vertical redistribution of water is studied following infiltration into deep homogeneous soil with an initially uniform moisture content. There is assumed to be no loss of water by evaporation or transpiration during the redistribution.
