Extended duration orbiter study: CO2 removal and water recovery [PDF]

open access: yes
Two electrochemical depolarized carbon dioxide concentrator subsystems were evaluated against baseline lithium hydroxide for (1) the baseline orbiter when expanded to accommodate a crew of seven (mission option one), (2) an extended duration orbiter with

Occurrence of transparent exopolymer particles (TEP) through drinking water treatment plants [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Numerous membrane fouling studies have been conducted to predict and prevent membrane fouling. It was only recently that a new parameter, TEP, was introduced in this research.

Medium-term performance and maintenance of SUDS:a case-study of Hopwood Park Motorway Service Area, UK [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
One of the main barriers to implementing SUDS is concern about performance and maintenance costs since there are few well-documented case-studies. This paper summarizes studies conducted between 2000 and 2008 of the performance and maintenance of four ...

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

Effect of preozonation on biological stability and organic matter removal from water

open access: yes上海师范大学学报. 自然科学版, 2014
Both preozonation and prechlorination processes were adopted before the conventional drinking water treatment process, and the raw water for each was taken from upstream of Huangpu River. The comparative pilot experiments were conducted at a scale of 1.0 ...

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

BIOSORPTION OF MN (II) IONS FROM AQUEOUS SOLUTION BY JERUSALEM ARTICHOKE (HELIANTHUS TUBEROSUS L.) STALKS

open access: yesFood and Environment Safety, 2017
The purpose of this paper is to tested Jerusalem artichoke stalks as a cheap biosorbent for its ability to remove Mn (II) ions from aqueous solution.
