Archives of Dermatology, 1951
During the course of management of subsiding acute and subacute dermatoses and dermatitides need has been felt for a paste which could be removed with water rather than with oil. It seemed especially desirable for use between wet dressings and soaks in fairly acute eruptions, for which a lotion was considered too drying.

Removal of hexafluoroarsenate from waters
Chemosphere, 2007Arsenic predominantly occurs in natural ground and surface waters as arsenate and arsenite. Other arsenic species can also be present in anthropogenically influenced waters. By means of a newly-developed speciation technique an arsenic compound was identified as hexafluoroarsenate at high concentration (about 0.8mgl(-1) as As) in a lake polluted by ...

Nitrate Removal from Ground Water
Water Research, 1987In the new E.C. directive relating to the quality of water intended for human consumption the maximum admissable concentration of nitrate in drinking water is decreased from 22.6 mg N03 --N/l to 11.3 mg N03 --N/l. The guide level is 5.6 mg N03 --N/l (1). At the same time, in many European countries an increasing nitrate concentration in ground water is

Removing Cerumen with a Water Pik
The American Journal of Nursing, 1976Cerumen occluding the ear canal is a common, annoying problem among people of all ages. Hearing can be impaired, adding further to a person's discomfort. Nurses and physicians warn their patients to keep foreign objects out of the ear and not to use even cotton-tipped applicators lest the cerumen be impacted and pushed back to the ear drum.

2010 2nd International Conference on Computer Engineering and Technology, 2010
In this paper, an efficient and effective method is proposed using dark channel prior to restore the original clarity of the images underwater. Images taken in the underwater environment are subject to water attenuation and particles in water's scattering, a phenomenon similar to the effect of heavy fog in the air.

Removal of ciprofloxacin from water by birnessite
Journal of Hazardous Materials, 2013With more pharmaceuticals and personal care products detected in the surface and waste waters, studies on interactions between these contaminants and soils or sediments have attracted great attention. In this study, the removal of ciprofloxacin (CIP), a fluoroquinolone antibiotic, by birnessite, a layered manganese oxide, in aqueous solution was ...

Removal of thallium in water/wastewater: A review
Water Research, 2019The frequent occurrence of thallium (Tl) in surface water has led to the imposition of strict environmental regulations. The need for an overview of effective and feasible technology to remove Tl from water/wastewater has therefore become urgently. This review introduced the current available methods for Tl removal, including adsorption, oxidation ...

Fluoride in drinking water and its removal
Journal of Hazardous Materials, 2006Excessive fluoride concentrations have been reported in groundwaters of more than 20 developed and developing countries including India where 19 states are facing acute fluorosis problems. Various technologies are being used to remove fluoride from water but still the problem has not been rooted out.
