Photochemical Control of Perovskite Crystal Formation at Room Temperature

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 9, 13 February 2026.
The authors demonstrate how ultraviolet (UV) light can enable the crystallization of two‐dimensional (2D) perovskite crystals that are otherwise difficult to grow using conventional thermal methods. These findings are supplemented with a detailed mechanistic description for the interaction of the UV irradiation with the perovskite precursor components.

Photocatalytic Degradation of PFOA with Porous Lanthanoid Perovskites Nano Catalyst

open access: yesChemie Ingenieur Technik, Volume 98, Issue 1-2, Page 7-17, February 2026.
Photocatalytic degradation of PFOA was studied using nickel‐ and lanthanide‐doped perovskites under UV–VIS irradiation. Catalyst characterization confirmed successful doping, with Ni/NdMnO3 showing the highest photocatalytic efficiency. Degradation occurred via C–C bond cleavage, forming transformation products PFHpA and PFHxA.

Experimental methods in chemical engineering: Electrospinning

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, Volume 104, Issue 2, Page 556-568, February 2026.
Abstract Electrospinning produces micro‐ and nanofibres by forcing a polymeric solution through a fine needle in an electric field that produces a filament that accumulates onto a collector plate. The fibre morphology depends on solution properties, distance between needle and plate, feed rate, and electric field intensity.

Enhancing Access to High School Summer STEM Programs Through Proactive Planning and Budgeting

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 2, February 2026.
This study explores how the Water Dawgs summer program effectively engaged high school students in freshwater science while addressing common barriers to STEM participation, such as financial and transportation challenges. Through strategic planning and budgeting, the program increased student confidence in STEM and demonstrated how proactive planning ...

PVDF‐Pyrolyzed Fluorine‐Doped TiO2 for Synergistic Adsorption‐Enhanced PFOA Photocatalysis

open access: yesEcoMat, Volume 8, Issue 2, February 2026.
Fluorine‐doped TiO2 (F‐TiO2) enhances perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) remediation through synergistic adsorption and photocatalysis. Synthesized via one‐step PVDF pyrolysis, F‐TiO2 promotes nanopores and hydrophobic interactions for efficient PFOA enrichment in dilute waters, while improving charge separation under UVC light.
