Effect of Kenaf Water Retting Process by Bacillus Macerans ATCC 843 on the pH of Retting Water

2015
pH plays a very critical role in kenaf retting process. The aim of this study was to observe the changes in the pH of the retting water with and without the use of Bacillus macerans ATCC 843. The duration for retting period was set to one week. The changes of pH was taken daily in both tank. Both of the reading was then compared.

Influence of water presoak on enzyme-retting of flax

Industrial Crops and Products, 2003
Abstract Enzyme-retting offers an alternative to the current method of dew-retting to extract fibers from flax (Linum usitatissimum L.). Additional steps could improve the efficiency of enzyme-retting and modify the properties of the resulting fibers.
