The Plant Water Status

2021
Climate change significantly affects the water status of the soil and plants. Historical analysis of the soil and plant water status showed that it has been a topic of discussion since time immemorial. It was considered important to collect data on plant and soil water characters to explain the relationship of soil moisture and plant water status ...

ASSESSMENT OF MYRTUS COMMUNIS L. WATER STATUS AND WATER REQUIREMENTS

Acta Horticulturae, 2008
Myrtle (Myrtus communis L.) is a naturally occurring, highly drought-tolerant, evergreen shrub or small tree that is widely distributed within the Mediterranean basin. It is classified as an aromatic species because of the essential oil compounds of the leaves and fruits.

Evaluating water stress in irrigated olives: correlation of soil water status, tree water status, and thermal imagery

Irrigation Science, 2009
Irrigation of olive orchards is challenged to optimize both yields and oil quality. Best management practices for olive irrigation will likely depend on the ability to maintain mild to moderate levels of water stress during at least some parts of the growing season.

Water Quality Status of Croatian Surface Water Resources

2019
The Croatian territory is divided into two big river basins. The continental part of the country belongs to the Danube River Basin, and the coastal area is part of the Adriatic Sea Basin. These two basins have completely different hydrological, topographical and geological characteristics including the vegetation cover as well.

Water Status and Imbalance

1976
The water relations of higher plants are influenced by many plant as well as environmental factors, and because of the numerous plant factors involved, it is likely that many pathogens have profound effects on the water relations of their hosts. Notable in this respect are the vascular pathogens which induce severe wilting of their hosts and which have

Water characteristic curves and water status indicator

Water International, 2008
This paper attempts to introduce specific analytical meanings for the frequently used terms “water stress” (Falkenmark 1992, Vorosmarty et al. 2000, 2005) and “water strain” (Haddadin 2007) by drawing an analogy from the science of engineering mechanics.

Carbohydrates and water status in wheat plants under water stress

New Phytologist, 1993
SUMMARYChanges in sugar content during water stress and recovery were examined in leaves of two varieties of durum wheat (Triticutn durum). The drought‐resistant Mohamed Ben Bachir (MBB) from Algeria and the drought‐sensitive European variety Capdur differed in the time and type of sugar increase during water stress.

Soil Water and Temperature Status

1999
Abstract Soil water status and temperature are critical factors that affect the activity of organisms in soils. Soil water content also has important effects on the quantity of water that eventually becomes available to surface water, both through its influence on infiltration/runoff relationships (wet soils have lower infiltration rates)
