An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...

Survey of Programs for Water-Surface Profiles
Several highly developed computer programs are available for determining water surface profiles for subcritical flow in rivers and channels. The needs for fast, accurate and inexpensive computation of profiles, and for more sophisticated techniques, can be satisfied by computer programs currently being developed. Current capabilities and limitations of

An unexpected alternative interaction site for ethyl viologen was identified in formate dehydrogenase 1 from Methylorubrum extorquens. Combined mutagenesis, kinetic analysis, and docking revealed that aromatic residues near an iron–sulfur cluster enable flavin mononucleotide‐independent electron transfer, offering a framework for engineering improved ...

An attempt to find a suitable place for soil moisture sensor in a drip irrigation system
Determination of an appropriate location for monitoring soil water content (SWC) is a key factor in efficient use of water in precision agriculture, however, the main challenge is the dynamic movement of water and root development in the soil profile ...

Structural insights and therapeutic targets in Acinetobacter baumannii capsule biosynthesis
Hypervirulent KL49 A. baumannii's capsular polysaccharide contains the nonulosonic acid 8‐epi‐Leg5,7Ac2, synthesized by epimerization via ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC. Crystal structures of ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC reveal their role in CMP‐Leg5,7Ac2 synthesis and regioselective C8 epimerization.

Impact of partially filled pipes on hydraulic performance of canal-pipe water delivery systems
【Objective】 Changes in water pressure in pipe networks can cause partial filling of pipes, leading to non-full flow. The objective of this paper is to investigate the impact of non-full flow on the hydraulic performance of canal-pipe water delivery ...

Investigation of Optimum Heat Flux Profile Based on the Boiling Safety Factor
An experimental study is conducted to investigate the effect of heat flux distribution on the boiling safety factor of its cooling channel. The water is allowed to flow in a horizontal circular pipe whose outlet surface is subjected to different heat ...

Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.
