Water–Salt Oligomers Enable Supersoluble Electrolytes for High‐Performance Aqueous Batteries
Advances in Materials, 2021Aqueous rechargeable batteries are highly safe, low‐cost, and environmentally friendly, but restricted by low energy density. One of the most efficient solutions is to improve the concentration of the aqueous electrolytes.

Adsorption of water on Cu(100) and Pd(100) at low temperatures: observation of monomeric water
Journal of Electron Spectroscopy and Related Phenomena, 1986Abstract The adsorption of water on Cu(100) and Pd(100) has been studied with use of electron energy loss spectroscopy (EELS). At 10 K and low coverage, water is found to adsorb associatively as monomers on the Cu(100), Pd(100) and Pd(100)p(1×1)H surfaces. The molecular axis is tilted ~ 60° away from the surface normal.

Hydro-locking in hydrogel for extreme temperature tolerance.
ScienceHydrogels consist of cross-linked polymers that are highly swollen with water. Water evaporation or freezing during temperature changes may lead to stiff and brittle hydrogels.

Development of a temperature and water vapor Raman lidar for turbulent observations
SPIE Proceedings, 2005A new generation Raman LIDAR system is developed for high spatial (1.5 m) and temporal (1 s) resolution humidity and temperature measurements in the lower atmosphere. A multi-telescope array is used so that a near constant LIDAR signal is obtained from 10 m out to 500 m.

Mars Climate Sounder Observation of Mars' 2018 Global Dust Storm
Geophysical Research Letters, 2020The largest of dust storms on Mars are global dust events (GDEs) that affect essentially every aspect of the Martian atmosphere but do not occur in every Mars year.

Influence of look-angle on the water surface temperature observed with an IR radiometer
Advances in Space Research, 1996Abstract The analysis of the data of sea surface temperature observed with a portable infrared radiometer from the fixed point on the seashore indicates a significant effect of observation(look) angle when it becomes larger than 70 degrees. An attempt is made to explain the effect by applying Fresnel's reflection law.

Comparison of PFS and TES observations of temperature and water vapor in the martian atmosphere
Icarus, 2011Abstract The interval from Ls = 330° in Mars Year (MY) 26 until Ls = 84° in MY 27 has been used to compare and validate measurements from the Mars Global Surveyor Thermal Emission Spectrometer (TES) and the Mars Express Planetary Fourier Spectrometer (PFS). We studied differences between atmospheric temperatures observed by the two instruments.
