Wave Analysis for West Coast of South Myanmar

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2015
The characteristic of southern parts of Myanmar is tropical monsoon climate, and this area is affected by few typhoons. The wave height is changed with season, the field measured data shows that the aver-age monthly maximum wave height is in June.

Methodological Study on Voluntary Greenhouse Gases Reduction for Shore Power System [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences, 2019
Voluntary emission reduction of greenhouse gases is conducive to reducing carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions and fostering a carbon trading market. Voluntary greenhouse gas emission reduction methodologies can be used to determine project baselines ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Temporal moments of a tracer pulse in a perfectly parallel flow system

open access: yes, 2002
Perfectly parallel groundwater transport models partition water flow into isolated one-dimensional stream tubes which maintain total spatial correlation of all properties in the direction of flow.

The water footprint of biofuel-based transport [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The EU target to replace 10 percent of transport fuels by renewables by 2020 requires additional water. This study calculates water footprints (WFs) of transport modes using first generation bio-ethanol, biodiesel or bio-electricity and of European ...

Sediment dynamics in the Bohai Sea under extreme weather: advances and prospects

open access: yesShui kexue jinzhan
Extreme weather events are major drivers of coastal geomorphic change, and understanding the mechanisms governing sediment-dynamic responses to these events is important for resilience-oriented coastal management.

Research on the driving characteristics of motor vehicles in high-altitude areas for the analysis of exhaust emission characteristics [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences
Research on the driving characteristics of motor vehicles at different altitudes in plateau regions and road emission intensity can provide technical support for energy conservation and emission reduction policies in plateau areas.

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Combining in situ measurements and altimetry to estimate volume, heat and salt transport variability through the Faroe–Shetland Channel [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
From 1994 to 2011, instruments measuring ocean currents (Acoustic Doppler Current Profilers; ADCPs) have been moored on a section crossing the Faroe–Shetland Channel.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.
