Effects of water quality and nitrogen on yield, yield components and water use efficiency of barley
2001A field study was carried out on sandy soil to determine the effects of water quality and nitrogen on yield and water use efficiency of barley (Hordeum vulgare L. cv. Ardhaoui). Two irrigation water qualities were used: canal water (3.4 dS/m) and saline water (11.7 dS/m). N was applied at the rate of 0, 60, 120 and 180 kg/ha.

Effect of Different Water Stresses on the Yield and Yield Components of Winter Wheat
Cereal Research Communications, 2004This study was carried out to determine the influence of water deficit on yield and yield components of winter wheat under Thrace conditions. Four wheat genotypes (MV-17, Flamura 85, Saraybosna and Kate-A-1) were grown under five different water stress treatments during the 1998/1999 and t999/2000 growing seasons.

The Effect of Fire on Water Yield
1984South Africa’s climates are dominantly semi-arid and the country faces water scarcity. Available surface water amounts to about 52 000 × 106 m3 yr-1, of which about 21 000 × 106 m3 can be effectively used. By present population estimates this available surface water equates to 7 000 litres per person per day.

Products and quantum yields for photolysis of chloroaromatics in water
Environmental Science & Technology, 1986Photolysis of chlorobenzene, 2- and 4-chlorobiphenyl, and 2- and 4-chlorobiphenyl ethers in water with 250-300-nm light produce corresponding phenols or, in the case of 2-chlorobiphenyl ether, dibenzofuran exclusively. Quantum yields in most cases are very similar to those reported in hexane for the reduction process. 1,2,4-Trichlorobenzene and 2,3,7,8-

The Effects of Water Stress on Grain Yield and Yield Components in Bread Wheat
Proceedings of the Bulgarian Academy of SciencesThe study was carried out with 24 wheat genotypes at different drought levels. The 24 genotypes used in the study were determined based on data from 45 genotypes at drought levels created with PEG. The experiment was carried out in plastic tubes 30 cm wide × 70 cm high.

Electron Yield in the ggr-Radiolysis of Water Vapor
Science, 1965Nitrous oxide at low concentrations reduces the high yield of hydrogen from γ-irradiated water vapor containing methanol from 8.9 per 100 electron volts absorbed to a plateau value of 5.9. This indicates that both electrons (yield 3.0) and hydrogen atoms (yield 5.4) are precursors to the hydrogen, the former being scavenged by nitrous oxide.

Effectiveness of cyclic irrigation on yield, yield components and water productivity
Proceedings of the Institution of Civil Engineers - Water ManagementThe efficiency of cyclic irrigation (CI) (using river water (RW) and drainage water (DW)) was investigated and compared with normal irrigation (NI) (using only RW). A 24 × 30 m research area was selected and divided into three plots – A (maize), B (soybean) and C (sunflower). Plot A was designed to produce DW for the irrigation of plots B and C.

The Water Yield from Small Water Sheds in Iowa
Journal AWWA, 1927With the ever increasing pollution of our middle western streams by industrial and city sewage, it is becoming more difficult for towns situated in the river valleys to secure safe and usable water. It is only a matter of time until many Iowa municipalities will be forced to seek their water supply from the flow of small streams whose water sheds can ...
