Spatially Diverse Water Levels Enhance Habitat Heterogeneity for Wintering Waterbirds
Freshwater BiologyABSTRACT1. Rising global temperatures and the increasing frequency of climate extremes pose significant challenges to waterbird conservation. These effects might be mitigated by managing habitat heterogeneity through diverse water levels in waterbird habitats. East Dongting Lake (EDL), a critical wintering site within the East Asian–Australasian Flyway,

Seasonal Variations in Waterbird Diversity and Threats to the Barotse Floodplain
University of Zambia Journal of Agricultural and Biomedical SciencesThis study explored waterbird diversity and associated threats in the Barotse Floodplain, Zambia, a critical wetland in the Zambezi River Basin. Field surveys conducted along a 202 km transect during the cold-dry and hot-dry seasons revealed higher waterbird diversity in the hot-dry season, as indicated by the Shannon-Wiener Index.

Abundance and diversity of the waterbird community in a managed wetland ecosystem
2004The waterbird community was studied in the Comacchio Lagoon for wildlife conservation and ecosystem wise use purposes. The studied area, divided into 33 sectors, covered little less than half of the 120 km2 total surface and all types of habitat and human management. Censuses were carried out 2-4 times every month during three years; average numbers of

ECOLOGICAL DIVERSITY OF WATERBIRDS FOUND IN UZBEKITAN
The water bodies and wetlands of Uzbekistan provide habitatsfor a wide variety of waterfowl species. These birds inhabit swamps, lakes, rivers, and artificial reservoirs. More than 100 species of waterfowl have been recorded inUzbekistan, including herons, cormorants, swans, ducks, geese, and gulls.openaire +1 more source
