Bend losses in flexible polyurethane antiresonant terahertz waveguides [PDF]

open access: yesOptics Express 29, 28692-28703 (2021), 2021
The quest for practical waveguides operating in the terahertz range faces two major hurdles: large losses and high rigidity. While recent years have been marked by remarkable progress in lowering the impact of material losses using hollow-core guidance, such waveguides are typically not flexible.

Flexible aromatic disulfide monomers for high-performance self-healable linear and cross-linked poly(urethane-urea) coatings [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Implementation of the self-healing concept in coatings is challenging because they have to combine mechanical strength and chain mobility. This challenge is addressed in this work by studying the effect of the polymer microstructure on the mechanical ...

Improved Performance of Organic Light-Emitting Transistors Enabled by Polyurethane Gate Dielectric [PDF]

open access: yesACS Appl. Mater. Interfaces 2023, 15, 28, 33809-33818, 2023
Organic light-emitting transistors (OLETs) are multifunctional optoelectronic devices that combine in a single structure the advantages of organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs) and organic field-effect transistors (OFETs). However, low charge mobility and high threshold voltage are critical hurdles to practical OLETs implementation.

Magnetic nanowires generated via the waterborne desalting transition pathway [PDF]

open access: yesACS Appl. Mater. Interfaces, 2011, 3 (4), pp 1049--1054, 2011
We report a simple and versatile waterborne synthesis of magnetic nanowires following the innovative concept of electrostatic "desalting transition". Highly persistent superparamagnetic nanowires are generated from the controlled assembly of oppositely charged nanoparticles and commercially available polyelectrolytes.
