Statistical properties of microcracking in polyurethane foams under tensile test, influence of temperature and density [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Fracture 1-4, 140 (07/2006) 87, 2007
We report tensile failure experiments on polyurethane (PU) foams. Experiments have been performed by imposing a constant strain rate. We work on heterogeneous materials for whom the failure does not occur suddenly and can develop as a multistep process through a succession of microcracks that end at pores.

Mesoporous Semi‐Permeable Flexible Polyurethane Membranes: Advancing Bioartificial Pancreas Design for Type 1 Diabetes Treatment

open access: yesMacromolecular Rapid Communications, EarlyView.
Elastomeric mesoporous membranes are developed for the elaboration of a bioartificial pancreas for type 1 diabetes treatment. Using green‐electrospinning followed by thermal and washing post‐treatments, the membranes achieve ≈20 nm pore sizes, biocompatibility, and mechanical strength and flexibility.
