Susceptibility assessment of watermelon and pumpkin cultivars to potyvirus in Tocantins

open access: yesBioscience Journal, 2017
Cucurbits cultivation has great importance in the food industry. However, in the main producing regions of curcubits, the increase of cultivation areas has been limited by viral infections. Among the most prevalent viruses there is the Watermelon Mosaic

Frequency and molecular characterization of watermelon mosaic virus from Serbia [PDF]

open access: yesPesticidi i fitomedicina, 2010
Watermelon mosaic virus (WMV) is widespread in cucurbit crops, most commonly occuring in temperate and Mediterranean regions. In Serbia WMV has been detected in single and mixed infections with Zucchini yellow mosaic virus and Cucumber mosaic virus in field-grown pumpkin and squash crops.

Resistance to the Emerging Moroccan Watermelon Mosaic Virus in Squash [PDF]

open access: yesPhytopathology®, 2019
Moroccan watermelon mosaic virus (MWMV) represents an emerging threat to cucurbit production in the Mediterranean Basin. We sequenced the near complete genome of MWMV-SQ10_1.1, a cloned Spanish isolate. MWMV-SQ10_1.1 has the typical potyvirus genomic structure, and phylogenetic analysis showed that it shared a common ancestor with other Mediterranean ...

SYSTEMATIC LITERATURE REVIEW (SLR): DISEASE DETECTION IN MELONS USING DIGITAL IMAGE PROCESSING

open access: yesJurnal Riset Informatika, 2020
Systematic Literature Review (SLR) is a technique used in this study which is used to study techniques for identifying leaf diseases using digital images as a basis for obtaining an understanding of disease identification techniques in melon leaves with ...

Development of a multiplex RT-PCR assay for simultaneous detection of Cucumber green mottle mosaic virus and Acidovorax citrulli in watermelon [PDF]

open access: yesPeerJ, 2019
Watermelon (Citrullus lanatus Thunb.) is considered as a popular and nutritious fruit crop worldwide. Watermelon blood flesh disease caused by Cucumber green mottle mosaic virus (CGMMV) and bacterial fruit blotch caused by Acidovorax citrulli, are two ...

Illustrated Workbook for the Detection of Plant Viruses Infecting Cucurbits: Demonstration of the Use of Direct Immunoblotting Assays [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
There are at least 5 viruses of cucurbitaceous plants (squash, melons, cucumber, etc.) that frequently cause severe to complete economic loss for cucurbit producers in the tropics.

Do stylet‐borne aphid‐transmitted viruses share the same binding sites?

open access: yesAnnals of Applied Biology, Volume 188, Issue 1, Page 87-101, January 2026.
Here, we tested if different stylet‐borne aphid‐transmitted viruses can compete for the same binding sites within the aphid stylets. We conducted sequential transmission assays of a potyvirus (ZYMV) followed by a cucumovirus (CMV) using Aphis gossypii as a vector and melon and pepper as test plants.

Watermelon Mosaic Virus Of Pumpkin (Cucurbita Maxima) From Sulawesi: Identification, Transmission, And Host Range [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
A mosaic disease of pumpkin (Cucurbita maxima) was spread widely in Sulawesi. Since the virus had not yet been identified, a study was conducted to identify the disease through mechanical inoculation, aphid vector transmission, host range, and electron ...
