Interface Effects in Ultrathin Silicon on Insulator Films
This work establishes a systematic framework to discriminate how bulk and interface phenomena affect charge transport in ultrathin P‐doped silicon‐on‐insulator (SOI) films. For Si films below 15 nm, electrical characterization demonstrates that interface states drive charge transport, shifting the metal‐insulator transition (MIT) critical dopant ...

A cooperative and competitive interrelationship between alcohol oxidation (AOR) and water oxidation (OER) was observed on a typical anode catalyst of Ni2P. In situ Raman spectroscopy and electrochemical analyses revealed a specific complementary mechanism between them, in which OER and AOR critically contribute to the activity and stability of anodic ...

Shock induced fluid structure interaction on a flexible wall in supersonic turbulent flow
A detailed knowledge of the flow structure interaction in supersonic flows is important for the design of future space transportation systems. Therefore this work was devoted to the investigation of the shock wave boundary layer interaction on an ...

Shaping Matter with Acoustic Waves: From Particles to Functional Structures
Acoustic‐directed assembly is reviewed as a materials‐oriented strategy for organizing particles, polymers, metals, and biological systems into functional structures. The review distinguishes reversible manipulation from permanent structure formation through medium fixation, particle fixation, and in situ material generation, highlighting routes toward

On vortex/wave interactions. Part 1. Non-symmetrical input and cross-flow in boundary layers
The paper studies certain effects of non-symmetry on vortex/wave interactions, for inviscid inflexional waves interacting nonlinearly with the vortex component of the mean flow in boundary-layer transition at large Reynolds number.

All‐solution‐processed, low‐cost extended short‐wavelength infrared photodetectors are realized by coupling colloidal HgTe quantum dots to plasmonic In2O3:Sn,F nanocrystals. Localized surface plasmon resonances boost and spectrally tailor light absorption between 1500 and 3000 nm, enabling responsivities above 40 A W−1.

Finite and infinite element method applied to water wave diffraction problems [PDF]
In this work, three types of infinite elements are developed to solve the problem of linear water wave diffraction by objects in a 2D unbounded domain. The infinite elements, which model the far field wave potential stretching to infinity, are coupled to

Neutrophil‐Mimetic MRI Enables Ultra‐Early Detection of Vascular Inflammation After Stroke
In this study, we developed neutrophil‐mimetic MRI probes that detect ultra‐early neuroinflammation following ischemic stroke by targeting E‐selectin. Within seconds of their injection, these microparticles mimic initial leukocyte adhesion to the activated cerebral endothelium.

Surface‐host dialogue at the implant interface governs biological fate and osseointegration. Surface physicochemical properties of titanium (Ti) dental implants, including microgrooves, nanopatterns, nanotopography, roughness, and wettability, modulate the initial adsorption of proteins and the formation of a dynamic biointerface.
