Wave - Structure Interactions: A Literature Review
Abstract The purpose of the work is revolved around presenting a literature review applied to wave-structure interactions. During this literature review, three types of breakwaters are presented: Bottom submerged breakwater, submerged plate, and seawalls breakwaters.

Approximate analysis of surface wave-structure interaction [PDF]
Surface wave-structure interaction is studied starting from a specialised approximate formulation involving a hyperbolic equation for the Rayleigh wave along with pseudostatic elliptic equations over the interior of an elastic half-space. The validity of the proposed approach for modelling a point contact is analysed.

Context. Electromagnetic star-planet interaction (SPI) describes the phenomenon of a planet coupling to its host star via electromagnetic forces. Alfvén waves can establish such a coupling by forming Alfvén wings. Star-planet interaction allows for phenomena that we do not otherwise know from the Solar System.

Cost-Benefit Analysis of a Hybrid Biophysical Approach to Wave Energy Extraction: Bio-Oscillator
A cost-benefit analysis (CBA) is described for a novel wave energy converters (WEC) design based on a marine hybrid bio-structure—a combination of macroalgae, shellfish or other species on a built frame.

A Review on the Modelling of Wave-Structure Interactions Based on OpenFOAM
The modelling of wave-structure interaction (WSI) has significant applications in understanding natural processes as well as securing the safety and efficiency of marine engineering. Based on the technique of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and the open-source simulation framework - OpenFOAM, this paper provides a state-of-the-art review of WSI ...

Experimental Investigation of the Flow Field in the Vicinity of an Oscillating Wave Surge Converter
The main objective of this paper is to characterize the flow field on the front face of an oscillating wave surge converter (OWSC) under a regular wave. For this purpose, the longitudinal and vertical velocity components were measured using an Ultrasonic

Wave Exciting Force Maximization of Truncated Cylinders in a Linear Array
This study focuses on the determination of optimum layout configurations for a linear array of identical mutually interacting truncated cylinders. Optimum configurations correspond to those that maximize either the total heave exciting force acting on ...
