Generation of short waves by wave-current interaction
IGARSS 2000. IEEE 2000 International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium. Taking the Pulse of the Planet: The Role of Remote Sensing in Managing the Environment. Proceedings (Cat. No.00CH37120), 2002Measurements of blocking of gravity waves by inhomogeneous currents are presented. In the wave tank at the NASA Air-Sea Interaction Research Facility, Wallops Island, VA, mechanically-generated periodic waves (1-3 Hz) were blocked upstream from the wave paddle by an opposing current (20-45 cms/sup -1/).

Induced-Current Interaction with Waves
1975Abstract : Microwave measurements have been made with a coherent radar in a wind-wave tank to determine the effect of induced current on backscatter. Perturbations were introduced into the wave structure by inducing a current in the water that flowed either with or against the wind.

Effects of wave–current interaction on the current profile
Coastal Engineering, 2010Abstract Wave–current laboratory experiments have shown that the logarithmic current profile observed in pure current flows is modified due to the presence of waves. When waves propagate opposite the current, an increase in the current intensity is achieved near the mean water level, while a reduction is obtained for following waves and currents ...

Interaction of Waves of Current and Polarization
Physical Review, 1963The system considered here is a polarizable semiconductor through which a current is flowing in response to an externally applied electric field. Phenomenological equations relating the charge density, polarization, electric and magnetic fields, and atomic displacements in such a system are described.
