Sandy shorelines respond to variability in boundary conditions over a wide range of time and spatial scales. While recent studies show that climate modes may affect shoreline evolution at interannual scales, such relationships remain unclear in the South

An improved hybrid model for shoreline change
Predicting the nearshore sediment transport and shifts in coastlines in view of climate change is important for planning and management of coastal infrastructure and requires an accurate prediction of the regional wave climate as well as an in-depth ...

Influence of El Ninos on California’s Wave Climate
Waves with exceptional height and periods caused severe damage along the coast of California in 1982-83. Because these large wave events coincided with a strong El Nino-Southern Oscillation (ENSO) climatic anomaly, which occurs 20-25 times per century, there was interest in determining if the extreme waves resulted from the ENSO or its related features.

Multidecadal Wind-Wave Variability in Makassar Strait along ALKI 2: ERA-Interim Based Assessment Supports IKN Maritime Resilience [PDF]
This study investigates the multidecadal variability of wave and wind dynamics along the Indonesian ALKI 2 shipping lane in the Makassar Strait using ERA-Interim reanalysis data for 39 years (1979–2017).

Long-Term Analysis of Wave Climate and Shoreline Change along the Gulf of California
The last ten years have shown that Climate Change (CC) is a major global issue to attend to. The integration of its effects into coastal impact assessments and adaptation plans has gained great attention and interest, focused on avoiding or minimizing ...
