The Wave Pump: Conversion of Wave Energy to Current Energy

Journal of the Waterway, Port, Coastal and Ocean Division, 1977
The Wave Pump converts wave energy to current energy utilizing the momentum of waves which are close to or at the breaking stage. To improve the efficiency of the Pump so that even smaller waves become effective, waves are concentrated in a funnel. Funnel geometry therefore is an important parameter. So is the wave height over depth ratio.

Overtopping breakwater for wave Energy Conversion: Review of state of art, recent advancements and what lies ahead

Renewable Energy, 2020
The OBREC is an overtopping structure which is integrated into a traditional rubble-mound breakwater to convert wave energy into electricity. The relatively simple geometry of this overtopping device, with a single frontal ramp and a reservoir, makes the

A Tubular-Generator Drive For Wave Energy Conversion

IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2006
This paper illustrates the operation of a tubular-machine drive as a linear generator for a heave-buoy wave energy conversion. Linear generators, which are adopted in marine power plants, offer the advantage of generating without introducing any conversion crank gear or hydraulic system.
