SURFING WAVES GENERATED BY A HULL
In this paper a new wave pool concept is presented using ship hulls as wave generators. To evaluate the potential of such a concept a towing tank experiment is conducted to investigate ship wave generation in a confined space. In the towing tank experiment various hull sizes and velocities are examined to maximize the generated wave height.

ABSTRACT Objective Status epilepticus (SE) is associated with significant mortality. Sleep architecture may reflect normal brain function. Impaired sleep architecture is associated with poorer outcomes in numerous conditions. Here we investigate the association of sleep architecture in continuous EEG (cEEG) with survival in SE.

An information-theoretic approach to the gravitational-wave burst detection problem [PDF]
The observational era of gravitational-wave astronomy began in the Fall of 2015 with the detection of GW150914. One potential type of detectable gravitational wave is short-duration gravitational-wave bursts, whose waveforms can be difficult to predict ...

A PROGRAMMABLE IRREGULAR WAVE GENERATOR
An account is given of the various design considerations in the development of a low-cost programmable wave generator for a laboratory channel. The ability of this equipment to reproduce prototype spectra is critically discussed.

ABSTRACT Objective Super‐Refractory Status Epilepticus (SRSE) is a rare, life‐threatening neurological emergency with unclear etiology in many cases. Mitochondrial dysfunction, often due to disease‐causing genetic variants, is increasingly recognized as a cause, with each gene producing distinct pathophysiological mechanisms.

Performance of a Direct-Driven Wave Energy Point Absorber with High Inertia Rotatory Power Take-off
An alternating rotatory generator using an eddy current break is developed as a physical scale model of a direct-driven floating point absorber power take-off (PTO) for wave tank tests.

Complex for experimental research of elastic wave interactions with ice layer [PDF]
An adjustable pneumatic generator of acoustic signals with shock excitation was developed. Measuring and computing complex was also created to investigate elastic acoustic wave propagation along ice surface.

Metric perturbations from eccentric orbits on a Schwarzschild black hole: I. Odd-parity Regge-Wheeler to Lorenz gauge transformation and two new methods to circumvent the Gibbs phenomenon [PDF]
We calculate the odd-parity, radiative ($\ell \ge 2$) parts of the metric perturbation in Lorenz gauge caused by a small compact object in eccentric orbit about a Schwarzschild black hole.

ABSTRACT Objective In multiple sclerosis, the optimal time for deploying a therapeutic intervention is before the central nervous system is damaged; given the success of trials treating the earliest stage of MS, the radiologically isolated syndrome, developing primary prevention strategies is an important next challenge.
