Scattering of a pulsed Rayleigh wave by a spherical cavity in an elastic half space

open access: yes, 1983
The time-dependant scattering by a spherical cavity in an elastic half space is considered. The incoming wave is a pulsed Rayleigh wave. The stationary part of the problem is solved by the T-matrix method, and an integration in frequency is perforemd ...

Hydrodynamic Numerical Analysis of Wave Pattern Due to the Motion of Suboff 5470 Underwater Vehicle Near the Free Surface

open access: yesنشریه مهندسی دریا, 2019
The wave pattern generated by motion of autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) near the water free surface is one of the significant factors in order to identify the AUV. In this research, firstly simulating the flow with constant velocity around the Wigley

On numerical issues for the wave/finite element method

open access: yes, 2006
The waveguide finite element (WFE) method is a numerical method to investigate wave motion in a uniform waveguide. Numerical issues for the WFE method are specifically illustrated in this report.

Rapid Fabrication of Self‐Propelled and Steerable Magnetic Microcatheters for Precision Medicine

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A rapid Joule heating fabrication method for the production of self‐propelling, adaptive microcatheters, with tunable stiffness and integrated microfluidic channels is presented. Demonstrated through three microrobotic designs, including a steerable guiding catheter, an untethered wave‐crawling TubeBot, and a distal‐end propelled microcatheter, it was ...

Beyond Presumptions: Toward Mechanistic Clarity in Metal‐Free Carbon Catalysts for Electrochemical H2O2 Production via Data Science

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Metal‐free carbon catalysts enable the sustainable synthesis of hydrogen peroxide via two‐electron oxygen reduction; however, active site complexity continues to hinder reliable interpretation. This review critiques correlation‐based approaches and highlights the importance of orthogonal experimental designs, standardized catalyst passports ...

Microscopic Insights into Magnetic Warping and Time‐Reversal Symmetry Breaking in Topological Surface States of Rare‐Earth‐Doped Bi2Te3

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Magnetic doping of the topological insulator Bi2Te3 with erbium adatoms induces out‐of‐plane magnetism and breaks time‐reversal symmetry, opening a Dirac gap and driving a Fermi surface transition from hexagonal to star‐of‐David geometry. Microscopy, spectroscopy, and magnetic dichroism reveal atomically controlled magnetic interactions that tailor the

A Functional 2D Carbon Allotrope Combining Nanoporous Graphene and Biphenylene Segments

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The synthesis of a novel nanoporous graphene (NPG) is reported with biphenylene segments via thermal fusion of 12‐armchair porous graphene nanoribbons grown on gold surfaces. Characterization using STM, AFM, and DFT reveals low‐defect semiconducting behaviour and tunable band gaps.

Low-frequency wave propagation in post-buckled structures

open access: yes
Nonlinear wave propagation in solids and material structures provides a physical basis to derive nonlinear canonical equations which govern disparate phenomena such as vortex filaments, plasma waves, and traveling loops. Nonlinear waves in solids however
