Design of Superconducting Synchronous Generator for Wave Power Generation

2019 22nd International Conference on Electrical Machines and Systems (ICEMS), 2019
In this paper, a design method of superconducting synchronous generator applied to wave power generation is proposed to obtain better output performance than permanent magnet synchronous generator. A strong magnetic field density is obtained by the strong magnetic field capturing ability of the superconducting material.

Electricity generation from wave power in Canada

Renewable Energy, 2009
Abstract The performance of three different types of wave energy converters (WECs) is evaluated at hundreds of Canadian locations using wave activity data made available by the Marine Environmental Data Service of Canada. Two Atlantic and three Pacific locations are found where at least one of these devices operates with a capacity factor of greater ...

Hydro-piezoelectric power generation from ocean waves

Ferroelectrics, 1983
Abstract A new concept is proposed for the large scale generation of electrical power from deep water, ocean wave. The concept is based on using large areas of multi-layered piezoelectric polymers to directly convert, on a contininuous basis, the essentially unlimited mechanical energy present in the ocean waves into high voltage, low frequenc ...

Electric power generation by ‘Surfing’ water waves

Renewable Energy, 2009
Abstract A novel method of generating electrical power from water waves utilizing a ‘Surfing’ motion was studied. Several system configurations were tested to evaluate the key aspects on which the power capture was dependent; it was found that the system power capture efficiency was primarily dependent on the wave steepness.

Tests On The Wave Power Generator "Kaimei"

Offshore Technology Conference, 1980
1. INTRODUCTION Although the possibility of utilizing wave energy has long been considered, the only wave power generator put to practical use in the world today is a navigation lite buoy. Thus, the utilization of wave energy is still limited to a small scale. The Japan Marine Science and Technology Center (JAMSTEC)

Gyrotrons for high power millimeter wave generation

1977 International Electron Devices Meeting, 1977
The gyrotron is a new type of micrwave tube capable of producing high power output at millimeter wavelengths. Oscillator results have been described in recent Soviet publications This paper describes work in progress at Varian Associates, Inc. to develop an amplifier of the gyroklystron type to deliver 200 kW cw at 28 GHz.

The Power Generated by the Waves

Advances in Image and Video Processing
Climate change and the emission of many polluting gases spread by fossil fuels have been causing plenty of problems for the environment. The energies provided by natural resources with zero release of greenhouse gases can be proper replacements to sustain the need of the power demand.
