Modelling of tsunami-like wave run-up, breaking and impact on a vertical wall by SPH method [PDF]
Accurate predictions of wave run-up and run-down are important for coastal impact assessment of relatively long waves such as tsunami or storm waves. Wave run-up is, however, a complex process involving nonlinear build-up of the wave front, intensive ...

Wave Run-Up Prediction of Semi-Submersible Platforms Based on Long Short-Term Memory Network
Wave run-up and air-gap are key issues for the safety of semi-submersible platforms. Real-time wave run-up prediction is helpful to ensure the safety of offshore activities.

Run-up characterstics of symmetrical solitary tsunami waves of unknown shapes [PDF]
The problem of tsunami wave run-up on a beach is discussed in the framework of the rigorous solutions of the nonlinear shallow-water theory. We present an analysis of the run-up characteristics for various shapes of the incoming symmetrical solitary ...

Modeling of Solitary Wave Interaction with Curved Face Seawalls Using Numerical Method
This paper considers the solitary wave interaction with seawalls of different curved geometries and sloped faces using numerical modeling. This interaction was simulated using the Finite Volume Method-Volume of Fraction (FVM-VOF) approach.

Influence of convex and concave curvatures in a coastal dike line on wave run-up [PDF]
Due to climatic change and the increased usage of coastal areas, there is an increasing risk of dike failures along the coasts worldwide. Wave run-up plays a key role in the planning and design of a coastal structure.

Wave Run-Ups and Overtopping Affected by Oblique Wave Approaches and Currents
To quantify the effect of a current on the height of a wave’s run-up and overtopping combined with an oblique wave approach, the “FlowDike” hydraulic research project was carried out. Tests were performed on two dike slopes of 1:3 and 1:6.

A Moving Boundary Wave Run-Up Model [PDF]
A numerical model has been developed for the simulation long wave propagation and run-up accounting for the bottom friction. Shallow water continuity and momentum equations are solved numerically by a two time step finite difference method. The upwind/downwind method is applied to the nonlinear advection terms and the continuity equation.

Wave run-up on permeable fixed reveted slopes
A numerical model of surface wave movement and water filtration in saturated-unsaturated porous medium has been developed. The model can be used to define the parameters of the wave run-up on the slope protected with a permeable fixed layer. The model is
