Wave Scattering by Small Bodies

Reports on Mathematical Physics, 1982
A new method for treating the many body problem for wave scattering by r small bodies is given. Formulae and numerical algorithm for the calculation of the scattering amplitude are given. The method allows for treatment of the case of \(r\sim 10^{23}\).

Electromagnetic Wave Scattering From Small Scatterers of Arbitrary Shape

Journal of Electromagnetic Waves and Applications, 2000
Summary: Scattering of electromagnetic waves from arbitrary shaped dielectric particles that are small compared to the wavelength in surrounding medium is studied theoretically by means of the local perturbation method generalized for vector equations.

Asymptotic Behavior of Scattered Waves

American Journal of Physics, 1965
The relation between the Fourier transform of a scattered wave and its asymptotic behavior at large distances from the scatterer is derived rigorously, and generalized to spaces of arbitrary dimension. Using this result, a simple derivation of the partial-wave expansion is given.

Short–wave scattering: problems and techniques

Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society of London. Series A: Mathematical, Physical and Engineering Sciences, 2004
The paper reviews the problem of modelling short-wave scattering. Short waves are understood to be waves in which the wavelength is much smaller than any other parameters in the problem. The background to wave problems is briefly described. The major numerical methods for wave modelling, finite elements, finite differences, boundary integrals and their

Scattering of Electromagnetic Waves by Longitudinal Plasma Waves

The Physics of Fluids, 1960
It is shown that Bragg reflection of electromagnetic waves from plasma oscillations is possible. The wave equation for the electromagnetic field passing through a medium of plasma waves is derived, and it is found to be similar to that of Brillouin for a wave in a medium of variable dielectric constant.

Wave operators in multichannel scattering

Il Nuovo Cimento, 1959
Some important consequences of, and conditions for, the convergence to the wave operators in the case of multichannel scattering are derived. The convergence for the typical multichannel systems with quadratically integrable interactions is demonstrated. (C.J.G.)

Dirac Scattered Wave Calculations

1984
The self-consistent-field-Xα-Dirac-scattered wave (SCF-Xα-DSW) method is briefly reviewed. The method treats relativistic effects fully within the one-electron local exchange framework. Examples of DSW results illustrate the versatility of the method, and its potential impact on studies of transition metal complexes and surfaces.
