Transmission Coefficients of Surface Cracks in the Path of Rayleigh Waves [PDF]
An approximate theory is presented for the transmission coefficients of surface cracks for incident Rayleigh waves. Predictions are given for a solid of Poisson's ratio 0:29 and are compared with the experimental results of Dalvi and Finch on surface flaws ou railroad wheels.

Low‐voltage FIB‐SEM tomography combined with a image preprocessing pipeline improves phase contrast and enables reliable machine‐learning segmentation of conductive networks in lithium‐ion battery electrodes. Attenuation coefficient of millimetre-wave two-wire surface-wave transmission lines
The two-wire line is shown to have an attenuation coefficient in millimetre wavelengths which is about the same as the attenuation constant of RG-98/U rectangular waveguide. The attenuation coefficient is also shown to agree with Sommerfeld's equation. The field extent is shown to be of reasonable value.

During creep of a single‐crystal Ni‐based superalloy, the overall crystal orientation is observed to remain constant while the microstructure evolves. Despite the lack of macroscopic rotation, small (<1°) rotations are observed on the submicron size scale and are accommodated by counteracting rotations over the scale of several micrometers.
