Full-waveform inversion imaging of the human brain

open access: yesbioRxiv, 2019
Magnetic resonance imaging and X-ray computed tomography provide the two principal methods available for imaging the brain at high spatial resolution, but these methods are not easily portable and cannot be applied safely to all patients.

Steep‐Switching Memory FET for Noise‐Resistant Reservoir Computing System

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We demonstrate the steep‐switching memory FET with CuInP2S6/h‐BN/α‐In2Se3 heterostructure for application in noise‐resistant reservoir computing systems. The proposed device achieves steep switching characteristics (SSPGM = 19 mV/dec and SSERS = 23 mV/dec) through stabilization between CuInP2S6 and h‐BN.

An Assessment of Waveform Processing for a Single-Beam Bathymetric LiDAR System (SBLS-1)

open access: yesSensors, 2022
The single-beam bathymetric light detection and ranging (LiDAR) system 1 (SBLS-1), which is equipped with a 532-nm-band laser projector and two concentric-circle receivers for shallow- and deep-water echo signals, is a lightweight and convenient ...

Ionic Control of Microstructure and Lubrication in Charged, Physically Cross‐Linked Hydrogels

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Here, charged, physically cross‐linked poly(methacrylamide‐co‐methacrylic acid) hydrogels stabilized by a short‐range attractive, long‐range repulsive potential is investigated. This work uncovers how salt addition alters not only swelling, but also the microstructure and dynamics, near‐surface stiffness and charge, and ultimately, its lubricity. Salts

ON A HEREDITARITY VIBRATING SYSTEM WITH ALLOWANCE FOR THE EFFECTS STICK-SLIP

open access: yesVestnik KRAUNC: Fiziko-Matematičeskie Nauki, 2016
The work was a mathematical model that describes the effect of the sliding attachment (stick-slip), taking into account hereditarity. explicit finite-difference scheme for the corresponding. Cauchy problem was constructed.

Towards Waveform Heliotomography: Observing Interactions of Helioseismic Waves with a Sunspot

open access: yes, 2010
We investigate how helioseismic waves that originate from effective point sources interact with a sunspot. These waves are reconstructed from observed stochastic wavefields on the Sun by cross-correlating photospheric Doppler-velocity signals.

Power Minimization-Based Robust OFDM Radar Waveform Design for Radar and Communication Systems in Coexistence

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, 2018
This paper considers the problem of power minimization-based robust orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) radar waveform design, in which the radar coexists with a communication system in the same frequency band.

Full Waveform LiDAR for Adverse Weather Conditions

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, 2020
We present and discuss the case for full waveform pixel and image acquisition and processing to enable LiDAR sensors to penetrate and reconstruct 3D surface maps through obscuring media.

Functional Materials for Environmental Energy Harvesting in Smart Agriculture via Triboelectric Nanogenerators

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review explores functional and responsive materials for triboelectric nanogenerators (TENGs) in sustainable smart agriculture. It examines how particulate contamination and dirt affect charge transfer and efficiency. Environmental challenges and strategies to enhance durability and responsiveness are outlined, including active functional layers ...

Seismic oceanography of internal solitary waves offshore the South Island, New Zealand

open access: yesFrontiers in Marine Science
Seismic oceanography has been widely used in the study of internal solitary waves (ISWs) in recent years, and has achieved remarkable results. In this paper, we analyzed the multi-channel seismic reflection data in the Canterbury Basin offshore New ...
