Pipeline Implementations of Neumann-Neumann and Dirichlet-Neumann Waveform Relaxation Methods

open access: yes, 2017
This paper is concerned with the reformulation of Neumann-Neumann Waveform Relaxation (NNWR) methods and Dirichlet-Neumann Waveform Relaxation (DNWR) methods, a family of parallel space-time approaches to solving time-dependent PDEs.

Size Effect on the Acoustic Emission Behavior of Textile-Reinforced Cement Composites

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2021
Acoustic emission (AE) is applied for the structural health evaluation of materials. It commonly uses piezoelectric sensors to detect elastic waves coming from energy releases within the material.

Analytic Waveforms for Eccentric Gravitational Wave Bursts [PDF]

open access: yesClassical & Quantum Gravity 37 (2020), no. 7, 075008, 2019
We here present the first analytic effective fly-by (EFB) waveforms designed to accurately capture the burst of gravitational radiation from the closest approach of highly eccentric compact binaries. The waveforms are constructed by performing a re-summation procedure on the well-known Fourier series representation of the two-body problem at leading ...

Conducting Polymer Microelectrode Arrays for Simultaneous Electrophysiology and Advanced Brain Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A flexible micro‐electrocorticography array with PEDOT:SS electrodes is shown to be compatible with ultra‐high magnetic field MRI up to 9.4 T. Multimodal brain monitoring is demonstrated by performing simultaneous blood oxygen level‐dependent functional MRI in parallel with electrophysiology.

Quantitative Comparison of Photoplethysmographic Waveform Characteristics: Effect of Measurement Site

open access: yesFrontiers in Physiology, 2019
Introduction: Photoplethysmography (PPG) has been widely used to assess cardiovascular function. However, few studies have comprehensively investigated the effect of measurement site on PPG waveform characteristics.

Raw waveform-based speech enhancement by fully convolutional networks [PDF]

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Signal and Information Processing Association Annual Summit and Conference, 2017
This study proposes a fully convolutional network (FCN) model for raw waveform-based speech enhancement. The proposed system performs speech enhancement in an end-to-end (i.e., waveform-in and waveform-out) manner, which differs from most existing ...

A General Shock Waveform and Characterisation Method [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
A shock waveform is proposed based on the mechanical mechanism of shock generation in a structure. The parameters in the shock waveform have clear mechanical meanings about the generation and development of the shock. A shock signal processing method is proposed and applied to represent a pyroshock or ballistic shock signal in both temporal and ...
