Experimental Investigation on the Vertical Structure Characteristics of Internal Solitary Waves

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering, 2022
An experimental investigation of the vertical structure characteristics of internal solitary waves (ISWs) was systematically carried out in a large gravitationally stratified fluid flume.

Analysis of cogging torque in brushless machines having nonuniformly distributed stator slots and stepped rotor magnets [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
A simple analytical technique is proposed for synthesizing the cogging torque waveform of a permanent magnet brushless machine from the cogging torque waveform that is associated with a single stator slot.

Extracting arterial flow waveforms from pulse oximeter waveforms [PDF]

open access: yesAnaesthesia, 2001
A method is described which allows an approximation to the arterial flow waveform to be derived from a pulse oximeter waveform. The observed pulse oximeter waveform is the sum of arterial inflow and venous outflow. These components are separated mathematically. Subtraction of the venous outflow reveals the underlying arterial flow waveform.

Stoma‐Shell Nanoarchitecture for Enhanced Plasma Confinement Catalysis in Synthesis of Ethanol from CO2

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
High‐energy electron impact in plasma catalysis often causes excessive dissociation of active intermediates, limiting C2+ product selectivity. To address this challenge, a bio‐inspired stoma‐shell nanoarchitecture is designed to decouple electron impact from catalytic reaction zones.

ON A HEREDITARITY VIBRATING SYSTEM WITH ALLOWANCE FOR THE EFFECTS STICK-SLIP

open access: yesVestnik KRAUNC: Fiziko-Matematičeskie Nauki, 2016
The work was a mathematical model that describes the effect of the sliding attachment (stick-slip), taking into account hereditarity. explicit finite-difference scheme for the corresponding. Cauchy problem was constructed.

Prototyping and Experimentation of a Closed-Loop Wireless Power Transmission with Channel Acquisition and Waveform Optimization

open access: yes, 2017
A systematic design of adaptive waveform for Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) has recently been proposed and shown through simulations to lead to significant performance benefits compared to traditional non-adaptive and heuristic waveforms.

Photoconductivity‐Driven Quantum Efficiency Gain in Inorganic Ruddlesden‐Popper Layered Cs2PbBr2I2 Perovskite Photodetector for Visible Light Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Rational halogen mixing strategy was employed to shift the bandgap of Cs2PbBr2I2 from ultraviolet to visible region, enabling first realization of a visible‐light photodetector with this 2D layered Ruddlesden‐Popper perovskite material. Under illumination, light‐induced internal field forms and drives trap‐mediated persistent photoconductivity ...

Seismic oceanography of internal solitary waves offshore the South Island, New Zealand

open access: yesFrontiers in Marine Science
Seismic oceanography has been widely used in the study of internal solitary waves (ISWs) in recent years, and has achieved remarkable results. In this paper, we analyzed the multi-channel seismic reflection data in the Canterbury Basin offshore New ...

Impact of Surface Soil Moisture Variations on Radar Altimetry Echoes at Ku and Ka Bands in Semi-Arid Areas

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2018
Radar altimetry provides information on the topography of the Earth surface. It is commonly used for the monitoring not only sea surface height but also ice sheets topography and inland water levels.
