An Inkjet‐Printed Platinum‐Based Temperature Sensing Element on Polyimide Substrates

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
An inkjet‐printed, meander‐structured, nanoparticle platinum‐based resistive temperature sensors on polyimide substrates are demonstrated as proof‐of‐concept. Optimized sintering at 250°C enables stable conductive structures. The Pt100‐ and Pt1000‐type sensors exhibit linear resistance–temperature characteristics with stable TCR in the 20°C–80°C range,

Effects of external signals on neural oscillator stability

open access: yesJournal of Biomechanical Science and Engineering, 2022
Neural oscillators, which are a mathematical model of a central pattern generator, have been used to investigate human gait and control mobile robots. A typical neural oscillator uses two neurons that mutually inhibit each other’s activity.

Micropatterned Biphasic Printed Electrodes for High‐Fidelity on‐Skin Bioelectronics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Micropatterned biphasic printed electrodes achieve unprecedented skin conformity and low impedance by combining liquid‐metal droplets with microstructured 3D lattices. This scalable approach enables high‐fidelity detection of ECG, EMG, and EEG signals, including alpha rhythms from the forehead, with long‐term comfort and stability.

Extracting arterial flow waveforms from pulse oximeter waveforms [PDF]

open access: yesAnaesthesia, 2001
A method is described which allows an approximation to the arterial flow waveform to be derived from a pulse oximeter waveform. The observed pulse oximeter waveform is the sum of arterial inflow and venous outflow. These components are separated mathematically. Subtraction of the venous outflow reveals the underlying arterial flow waveform.
