Two quantitative measures of similarity of one class of waveforms
Computers and Biomedical Research, 1973Abstract The concept of visual similarity of waveforms is discussed. The importance that it plays in the study of complex systems such as those encountered in biomedical research is pointed out, and the importance of automation of these processes is stressed.

Waveform similarity over-and-add technique with gain contgrol
2009 2nd IEEE International Conference on Broadband Network & Multimedia Technology, 2009In this paper, we propose a new method of Time-scale modification (TSM) of audio signal. In the proposed GWSOLA algorithm, we introduce the gain control into the standard WSOLA technique which could adjust the level of the audio segments for overlap and add in order to maintain the audio signal level consistent.

Using waveform similarity to constrain earthquake locations
Bulletin of the Seismological Society of America, 1999AbstractWe demonstrate that the numerical value of the cross-correlation between P or S waveforms, commonly computed to determine differential travel times for earthquake relocation, itself contains useful information about the relative location of the events.

Power definition and energy measurement based on waveform similarity
2008 IEEE/PES Transmission and Distribution Conference and Exposition, 2008For the characteristics of non-linear, imbalance and fluctuation, a large quantity of harmonic and negative sequence current will be injected to the power grid by the traction load of electric railway, which will lead to the serious distortion of the source voltage.

Methods of comparison and similarity scoring for electrical current waveforms
2017 12th Iberian Conference on Information Systems and Technologies (CISTI), 2017The aim of this study was to identify methods that may be applied in the calculation of similarity between waveforms. Five methods were selected: the Pearson correlation coefficient, the phi coefficient, the Bhattacharyya distance, the Spearman correlation coefficient and the Root Mean Square Deviation.

Similarity measurement study for Bio-signal waveform based on tunnel morph
2011 Eighth International Conference on Fuzzy Systems and Knowledge Discovery (FSKD), 2011Since Bio-signal contain rich diagnosis information for medical treatment, the modeling, featuring, classification and diagnostic analysis of the similarity measurement on such waveforms bear great significance in medical research. Getting inspiration from anti-aliasing analysis in signal processing field, a tunnel morph outcome model is presented for ...

Application of Shape-based Similarity Measures to Classification of Acoustic Emission Waveforms
Structural Health Monitoring 2017, 2017Over the past decades, Acoustic Emission (AE) has emerged as a promising in-situ inspection technique in different applications such as civil or airborne structures, rotating machinery, or process monitoring. As AE refers to the sudden release of elastic energy due to structural changes in stressed materials (i.e.

Variation of shearwave splitting in earthquake clusters with very similar waveforms
Acta Seismologica Sinica, 2000Among the records of aftershock observation of the 1991 Datong, China ML=5.8 earthquake, very similar waveforms from clusters of small earthquakes were found. Cross-correlation of the waveforms of each pair in the cluster confirmed the similarities. Re-sample technology is used to improve the sampling rate, which is helpful to distinguish the small ...
