Microsaccades Tracking by Secondary Speckle Pattern Analysis

open access: yesJournal of Biophotonics, EarlyView.
A new approach for detecting microsaccades is introduced using secondary speckle patterns reflected from the sclera. This method offers potential benefits in capturing subtle eye movements and overcoming limitations in traditional pupil‐tracking systems.

Extended Learning Robustness for High‐Fidelity Human Face Imaging from Spatiotemporally Decorrelated Speckles

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
A GAN‐based framework is proposed that tackles spatiotemporal instabilities of scattering media and addresses decorrelation between training and testing data (no overlap between their collection periods). The trained GAN non‐holographically retrieves high‐fidelity human face images from unstable scattering media and effectively addresses speckle ...

Nearly 180° Field‐of‐View Metalens for Miniaturized Imaging Systems

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
A compact, single‐layer metalens is developed with an ultra‐wide field of view of ≈180 degrees. Utilizing a unique quadratic phase profile, this metalens overcomes traditional issues like axial and color dispersion. It operates across red, green, and blue wavelengths with non‐polarized light, promising enhanced imaging capabilities for integration into

A Dual‐Programmable Metasurface with Duplex Beam Steering for Full‐Space Terahertz Communications

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
A dual‐programmable terahertz metasurface enables independent control of transmission and reflection beam steering. It breaks through the limitations in resonant tunability by polarization allocation with 2D‐electron‐gas tuning, enabling a single resonator to incorporate bidirectional operating modes.

Topological Vortex Transition Induced by Spin Hall Effect of Light for Tunable Humidity Sensing and Imaging

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
This study introduces a humidity‐responsive optical imaging technique capable of dynamically switching between edge detection and bright‐field imaging modes. Utilizing humidity‐induced modulation of refractive index and polarization‐dependent beam shaping, tunable optical imaging is achieved through controlled beam splitting governed by the spin Hall ...
