WAVEFRONT MANIPULATION WITH METASURFACES BASED ON NEW MATERIALS [PDF]
Metasurfaces, introduced as a compact 2D alternative of metamaterials, have developed into a vast field in recent times for light manipulation at an ultra-compact scale. Metasurface applications have found a place in the literature for compact alternatives to lens, holograms, polarizers, color filters.

Direct wavefront manipulating for a transverse electric wave microlens
Optics Letters, 2016Due to the polarization nature of the transverse electric electromagnetic wave, manipulating it has been a difficult task and can be even more challenging for integrated on-chip optics. In this Letter, a transverse electric wave manipulating method based on direct wavefront bending and its physical picture have been proposed. Even with only five cells,

Tunable manipulation of terahertz wavefront based on graphene metasurfaces
Journal of Optics, 2017We have systematically investigated the performances of a tunable graphene metasurface that can dynamically manipulate the terahertz wavefronts. The metasurface consists of a silver substrate, SiO2 interlayer and the top graphene ribbons that can exhibit plasmon resonances to realize a phase shift by changing the Fermi levels of graphene ribbons.

Manipulating Digital Holograms to Modify Phase of Reconstructed Wavefronts
AIP Conference Proceedings, 2010We show that through an adaptive deformation of digital holograms it is possible to manage the depth of focus in the numerical reconstruction. Deformation is applied to the original hologram with the aim to put simultaneously in‐focus, and in one reconstructed image plane, different objects lying at different distance from the hologram plane (i.e.

Manipulating Acoustic Wavefront with Metasurface of Inhomogeneous Impedance
2016This chapter establishes the framework of acoustic wavefront manipulation by resorting to the acoustic metasurface which has specific acoustic impedance (SAI) inhomogeneity and discontinuity, rather than the phase inhomogeneity in terms of wave propagation (Sundar et al., Opt Lett 34(3):374–376, 2009, [1], Yu et al., Science 334(6054):333–337, 2011, [2]
