Fiber-Metasurface for Wavefront Shaping
Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics, 2017An array of embedded subwavelength fibers is proposed as a flexible, large-scale and mass-producible metasurface for wavefront shaping. As a proof of concept, we numerically demonstrate beam deflector, focusing optics, high reflector and sinusoidal wavefront shaping.

Multifocus imaging via polarization wavefront shaping
Three-Dimensional and Multidimensional Microscopy: Image Acquisition and Processing XXVII, 2020Conventional three-dimensional (3D) images of biological samples are typically assembled from a stack of twodimensional images acquired sequentially at different focal planes. This time-consuming manner hinders the application of 3D imaging techniques to the investigation of fast biochemical dynamics and light-sensitive biological events.

Reflector shaping by optimization of wavefront shapes
Antennas and Propagation Society Symposium 1991 Digest, 2002The shaping of reflector antennas has generally been done by solving a system of partial differential equations (PDEs) which describe the ray tracking system. The technique has been very successful in many cases but has some difficulties with existence and uniqueness questions due to the PDE formulation.

Frontiers in Optics + Laser Science 2024 (FiO, LS)
This talk introduces neural wavefront shaping (NeuWS), a guidestar-free approach for imaging through optical aberrations. NeuWS integrates maximum likelihood estimation, measurement modulation, and neural signal representations to reconstruct diffraction-limited images through static/dynamic scattering media.

Optogenetics meets optical wavefront shaping
Nature Methods, 2010Optogenetic stimulation by ultrashort laser pulses could allow neural circuits in the living brain to be probed with cellular resolution, despite pervasive light scattering. Now sophisticated new multiphoton stimulation systems that strike a better balance between lateral and axial resolution help realize this potential by matching the illumination ...

Wavefront shaping is a versatile technique that allows control over the scattering processes of light in opaque samples. It was invented by our group in 2007 and has since been shown to be of major importance in the field of optics. Applications include microscopy, speckle noise reduction in imaging, beam steering, generation of arbitrary light modes ...
