Double Helical Plasmonic Antennas

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Plasmonic double helical antennas funnel circularly polarized light to the nanoscale, offering strong chiroptical interaction and directional light emission. Extending a single helix design tool, this study combines numerical modeling with experimental validation, revealing large, broadband dissymmetry factors in the visible range.

Exact equivalent-profile formulation for bent optical waveguides [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2006
A widespread, intuitive and computationally inexpensive method to analyze light guidance through waveguide bends is by introducing an equivalent straight waveguide with refractive index profile modified to account for actual waveguide bend. Here we revise the commonly used equivalent-index formula, ending up with its simple extension that enables ...

Plasmonic Tamm states: second enhancement of light inside the plasmonic waveguide [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
A type of Tamm states inside metal-insulator-metal (MIM) waveguides is proposed. An impedance based transfer matrix method is adopted to study and optimize it. With the participation of the plasmonic Tamm states, fields could be enhanced twice: the ffirst is due to the coupling between a normal waveguide and a nanoscaled plasmonic waveguide and the ...

Optoelectronic Devices for In‐Sensor Computing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The raw data obtained directly from sensors in the noisy analogue domain is often unstructured, which lacks a predefined format or organization and does not conform to a specific data model. Optoelectronic devices for in‐sensor visual processing can integrate perception, memory, and processing functions in the same physical units, which can compress ...
