Maillard Type Reaction for Electroless Copper Plating onto Ceramic Nanoparticles
This work presents the manufacturing of copper‐plated ceramic nanoparticles in an environmentally friendly way. Supported by organic functionalizations with pectin an electroless plating step can be performed. Sustainable reagents like xylose, and several amino acids are used for the reduction process.

Critical Wavelength in the Transmission Spectrum of a Directional Coupler Employing GeO 2 -doped Single Mode Fibers [PDF]
We examined the existence of critical wavelength in transmission-spectrum of a Directional Coupler, employing GeO 2 - doped SMF and showed that it differs significantly from that observed in SMS structures. The origin of critical wavelength is explained.

Al–Si alloys are particularly in demand for automotive and electronic applications, thanks to their excellent wear and thermal properties. Nevertheless, when processed by conventional methods with low cooling rates, the coarse primary Si phases are responsible for increasing brittleness and inducing crack propagation.

All-fiber dual-wavelength mode-locked laser using a bend-induced-birefringence Lyot-filter as gain-tilt equalizer [PDF]
Multi-wavelength fiber lasers have emerged as a promising light source for the application in wavelength division multiplexing communication, terahertz wave generation and optical sensing due to high efficiency and robustness. Lyot-filter emerges as a potential device for multi-wavelength generation application.

Use of Dynamical Undulator Mechanism to Produce Short Wavelength Radiation in Volume FEL (VFEL)
VFEL lasing in system with dynamical undulator is described. In this system radiation of long wavelength creates the undulator for lasing on shorter wavelength. Two diffraction gratings with different spatial periods form VFEL resonator. The grating with

We demonstrate that the Compton wavelength mathematically corresponds exactly to the photon wavelength of rest mass energy. On the other hand, the de Broglie wavelength is not defined for a rest-mass particle, but if the particle is nearly at rest, then the de Broglie wavelength approaches infinity, and the corresponding photon wavelength of the rest ...

An electronic system is presented consisting of a silver thin‐film electrode on a polyimide substrate working both as a heating element and a resistive temperature sensor, generating millisecond heat pulses with very fast heating and cooling rates and a flat peak temperature with a tunable duration.
