Crack Detection with Lamb Wave Wavenumber Analysis

open access: yes, 2013
In this work, we present our study of Lamb wave crack detection using wavenumber analysis. The aim is to demonstrate the application of wavenumber analysis to 3D Lamb wave data to enable damage detection.

Wavenumber Selection by Benard-Marangoni Convection at High Supercritical Number

open access: yes, 2017
Marangoni-Benard convection which is mainly driven by the thermocapillary (Marangoni) effect occurs in a thin liquid layer heated uniformly from the bottom.

Polymorph‐Specific Electronic Transduction in WO3 during Molecular Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Metal‐oxide polymorphs with similar surface chemistry can nevertheless exhibit distinct sensing properties. In γ‐ and ε‐WO3, analyte adsorption appears comparable; yet, only ε‐WO3 induces a pronounced lattice electronic perturbation that accommodates charge in sub‐conduction band minimum states.

Propagation thermoelastic impulse through a cylindrical waveguide under sidewall heat interchanging

open access: yesVestnik Samarskogo Gosudarstvennogo Tehničeskogo Universiteta. Seriâ: Fiziko-Matematičeskie Nauki, 2011
The paper is devoted to a study of coupled harmonic thermoelastic impulse guided propagation through an infinite circular cylinder. Heat interchanging is supposed to take place between sidewall of the waveguide and environment.

Frequency–wavenumber spectral analysis of spatio-temporal flows

open access: yes, 2018
We propose a fully spatio-temporal approach for identifying spatially varying modes of oscillation in fluid dynamics simulation output by means of multitaper frequency–wavenumber spectral analysis.

Water wavenumber calibration for visible light optical coherence tomography [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
SIGNIFICANCE: Visible light optical coherence tomography (OCT) is emerging for spectroscopic and ultrahigh resolution imaging, but challenges remain. Depth-dependent dispersion limits retinal image quality and current correction approaches are cumbersome.

Co1/Ru Single‐Atom Alloy Catalyst for Sustainable Polypropylene Hydrogenolysis to Long‐Chain Liquid Products

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A titania‐supported Co1/Ru single‐atom alloy catalyst enables efficient polypropylene hydrogenolysis. Ru─Co─Ru motifs maintain Ru activity while suppressing excessive chain scission to gaseous products. Both virgin and waste plastics achieve high, environmentally and economically optimal C11+ liquid yields, supporting sustainable chemical recycling ...

Kolmogorov's dissipation number and determining wavenumber for dyadic models

open access: yes
We study some dyadic models for incompressible magnetohydrodynamics and Navier-Stokes equation. The existence of fixed point and stability of the fixed point are established.

Nonlocal Metaspire: A Scalable Elastic Material Platform With Decoupled Mechanical Modes

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Nonlocal Metaspire introduces sequential rotation to realize wider scalability in implementing complex nonlocal couplings in elastic metamaterials while suppressing unintended mode coupling. Numerical results clarify the underlying wave motions, demonstrate mode‐decoupled roton and maxon formation, and support a straightforward extension to higher ...
