Pollinator Associations of Rare and Endangered Epacris Species (Ericaceae) in Lutruwita/Tasmania: Implications for Conservation

open access: yesAustral Ecology, Volume 51, Issue 9, September 2026.
ABSTRACT The breeding systems of Lutruwita/Tasmania's threatened Epacris taxa are poorly known. Our main objective was to determine the pollinators of several endemic species and explore for relationships between pollinators, floral morphology, flowering time and habitat. The Epacris have limited variation in floral traits and exhibit generalist floral

A High‐Resolution Method Using Individual Females to Assess the Competitiveness of Sterile Drosophila suzukii Males Under Semi‐Controlled Conditions

open access: yesEntomologia Experimentalis et Applicata, Volume 174, Issue 9, Page 1011-1021, September 2026.
A high‐resolution, novel method to assess the sexual competitiveness of sterile mass‐reared Drosophila suzukii males is calibrated and illustrated using different laboratory and wild type strains. Isolation of individual females after semi‐controlled cage competition tests and subsequent observation of their progeny showed that sterile males from two ...

Decoding chemical profiles in insect‐induced gall development: Insights from Phacopteron lentiginosum–Garuga pinnata interactions

open access: yesEntomological Science, Volume 29, Issue 3, September 2026.
Analysis of volatile and non‐volatile metabolites across three developmental stages (3rd, 4th and 5th instar nymphal stages) of leaf galls induced by Phacopteron lentiginosum on Garuga pinnata revealed that the 3rd stage exhibited the highest chemical diversity and concentration followed by 4th and 5th stages.

Comparison of the dietary and tissue sterols of the greater wax moth, Galleria mellonella (L)

open access: yes, 1997
The neutral sterols of the greater wax moth Galleria mellonella were determined and compared to the sterols isolated from the used brood comb upon which the insects were reared.

Biological cycle of the greater wax moth Galleria mellonella (Linnaeus, 1758) (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae: Galleriinae) in Panama

open access: yesRevista Chilena de Entomología
The greater wax moth Galleria mellonella (Linnaeus, 1758), is one of the principal pests in the honeycomb of the European bee Apis mellifera Linnaeus, 1758, around the world. In this experiment, the complete biological cycle of G.
