Experimental study on the influence of asphaltenes with small dosage on the rheological and gelation behavior of waxy mixtures

open access: yesJournal of Pipeline Science and Engineering
Asphaltene, the heaviest and most polar non-hydrocarbon component in crude oil, may interact with waxes and affect the flow and gelation behavior of waxy oils. To further study the effect of asphaltene on the flow and gelation behavior of waxy oils, five

Electrospun Wood‐Derived Biopolymers as Electrodes in Electrochemical Energy Storage Technologies

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Electrospinning transforms wood‐derived cellulose and lignin into architecturally defined, binder‐free carbon electrodes with tuneable porosity and functionality. This review shows how fibre design enables decoupled charge and mass transport, enhancing performance across battery systems, while identifying key challenges in spinnability, scalability ...

Strong Lead‐Free Bioinspired Piezoceramics for Durable Energy Transducers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We fabricated brick‐and‐mortar lead‐free piezoceramics with Bi0.5Na0.5TiO3 monocrystal platelets as bricks and amorphous silica as mortar. The alignment of the bricks and the presence of the amorphous silica led to anisotropic residual stresses. These residual stresses increase the samples toughness, strength and durability while the brick alignment ...

Upcycling Keratin‐Based Textile Waste Into High‐Performance Hybrid Fibers Via Tuning the Interfacial Interactions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Keratin recovered from animal‐hair textile waste is fractionated and blended with cellulose to produce continuously spun hybrid fibers. Selecting the high‐molecular‐weight keratin fraction enables 30 wt.% keratin incorporation while maintaining high strength in dry and wet states.
